Place an Ad button

I'd like to suggest that the text "Place An Ad" be replaced with a graphic button that appears on every page. Something larger and more noticeable. Similar to the New Thread, Post Reply buttons in forums.

PS. I know that I can make this change myself, manually, but it's always better when it's a part of the program.

The problem with this is one major thing you need to think of.

1. This is easy to do in the standalone classifieds since we control the css. We could do a nice css button. I even showed examples of this in another thread somewhere.

2. The problem with forum integrations is how would you handle this. We can make a button thats the not the problem but when your integrated with a forum there is no standard. How are we going to style a button when the style is not in our control.

That is why you do not see something like this. If we did not integrate with all the products we do and just had to worry about things being totally in our control you would see alot of this.

Got it. I thought the text "Place an Ad" link was in a consistent location in all standard Classified forum integrations. If that moves around I could see that being impossible to code in a graphic that would fit all the many integrations.

Thanks for considering the suggestion.

The link is consistent. The style is not therefore that is what i am saying. Coding up a button is easy it is just how to have to work with all the different styles when your talking about styles coming from all the forums. vb uses hard coded graphics in those custom styles in a specific color to match that custom theme.
