Moderation Suggestions

Moderation of ad uploads, comments and feedback is currently a global setting. This provides no flexibility for Admins to setup their classifieds as they might prefer. I suggest the moderation of the three features be individually set.

In addition, an Admin choosing to go without moderation is provided editing and deleting capability for comments and ads ... but not for feedback unless done by editing the MySql database. Yet malicious feedback is a fact of life and needs to be managed when it happens. I strongly suggest that convenient editing and deletion of feedback be added into the Admin interface.

That will be years and, for us, a move to vb4 anytime soon is highly unlikely. We would have to leave too much of what is familiar in the trash.

well vbulletin community makes up about 40% of our customers so unfortunately that means its a huge priority to support vb4 hense all products are in a cycle to add vb 4.0 support. Not sure what your years comment means but as I stated I have no problem looking into new features for classiifeds once I begin an active beta cycle on it when all the vb4 stuff ends which should be by the end of the year supposedly.

My recollection of the vb4 announcement is that it was planned to be a two years or longer development cycle ... hence my years comment. It also is a highly disruptive upgrade that is highly inconsiderate of its existing users. It is understood that vb licensees are important to you. So too should be your existing licensees when they bring problems and issues to you, regardless of the forum software they use.

Returning to the suggestion and when, if ever, it might be implemented, I consider it to be a glaring flaw that will result in a constant risk of losing advertiser good will. My guess is that relatively little time would be needed to make each item individually selectable for moderation or to, at least, make feedback editable.

vbulletin 4 will be final and gold by the end of the year so not sure where you got that information. It is already in a public beta 3 stage.

Moderation is a global element always has been. The application can not work how every last customer expects it to work. Customers are free to change things to suit there needs. However as stated if you wanting us look into it then when I get into an active beta cycle I have no problem looking at how things can be changed.
