Zip Code field

It would be very nice if this was only displayed if the option to Pickup Product was available.

If there was an option when posting the Ad titled "Delivery of Product" and choices noted below:
1. Mail (UPS, FedEx, Postal) -- set shipping rate by user
2. Pickup Only <--- Display ZipCode field so the customer can determine how far away the product is.
3. Delivery Available <-- this is something a bit different. Somehow if you could use the zip code field and let's say I would deliver the item and I set a per mile charge (heavier items more per mile charge then lighter items) and when they enter there zip code it would calculate rough miles and multiply by the per mile rate the user entered for the ad. That would pretty cool.

Of course I'm not sure if you could say, Pickup or Delivery and let the customer who is purchasing the product select. (of course pickup would equal no additional fees applied and delivery would utilize the per mile rate charge multiply miles from zip code.

well nice idea although seems pretty specialized to your specific needs.

The zipcode function as designed is utilized for users to see how far away a user is from them. Users can search by distance etc. It is really a search tool in the grand scheme of things. To do as you wish would remove alot of the functionality in the program in general for what it was designed for.

Fair enough...

I thought it would be a nice enhancement to offer different ways of deliverying the product purchased or advertised on the classifieds website. (like ebay does with local pickup versus mailing)

Of course I am always looking for more ways to make money so I don't mind delivering the product but not for free. I figured many sellers out there may feel the same way. "I'll deliver it ..... for a cost."

No problems or even complaints.. just wanting to help make your product the best because in turn, it helps me the user love it more.

Yep good ideas are always appreciated.

Our product is not suppose to be a direct comparison to ebay but at any rate something like your suggesting would mean adding new functionality which in the future we can look at but as stated we wont cannibalize current functionality to achieve something new. We just recently added the ability to put in a shipping charge so future enhancements are always coming.
