| Is the Classifieds script no longer a work in progress?
It's seems like a very long time in between updates... is this a script you guys no longer plan to improve on?
With other classifieds scripts coming afloat and the lack of future improvements to this one I am considering jumping ship. |

I am actually working on a beta right now that should be open within the next week or so. Actually along time ago we made posts reflecting that we where going to stop the several updates a year thing which was very time consuming to concentrate on support of the products and do more yearly big updates to the code instead of small releases that had minor changes.

I sure would like to see an option to charge per ad, as well as the option to either select between a few highlighting colors, or atleast where the program would automatically select between a set of colors so it doesn't display one single color.
Sorry to chime in, but just glad to hear this is still in progress as I do remember reading that you would begin work on this at the beginning of the year. Thanks chuck... i can't imagine your workload between coding the beta, and answering all our noob questions. Just wanted to let you know your efforts are truely appreciated, atleast by me!

Yes my workload is a little crazy to say the least. Highlighting color has been moved into the admin options. I am just sifting through the suggestions forums here seeing what is feasible to add basically before moving it to a beta.
Some small things added are a messaging system, mini forum, highlighting moved to admin, ability to upload multiple quanities of an ad and enhanced profile system. Just starting really.

The ability to sell more then 1 of an item is what I have been waiting for and crossing my fingers that it would finaly make its way in tot he product. As long as this will work with VB 3.7.x you can count on me purchasing a second license for another site!
Thank you

Yes I am working on adding the final touches to that since it affects alot of scripts but that will indeed be a part of the beta that will be out soon. I was gonna try and have it out by this weekend but kind of have been laid up with the flu all week so I am trying to shoot for this coming weekend for something to test. feel free to also view the suggestions forum and give your heads up on the most important other things you want.

I like the 3-4 smaller updates through the year... alot can change in a year.

I am not saying we are not going to release only one a year. I am saying it all depends on time. In the old days we had as many as 6 updates a year which took alot of time away from product support and focused all time on product development. Basically we need to find a balance between both things but product support of our existing code is always going to be our main aspect as product support is what keeps people happy. I personally am gonna try and do 2 updates at least a year for classifieds and reviewpost and as most people know I support all 3 main core Photopost products except vbgallery so I am quite busy.

I'm glad to hear it as I was wondering why I was renewing my access without any updates.
Will the next version have some utility to clean up the Gigabytes of photos left behind after the ad runs out? How about the ability to mass delete old ads that didn't weren't set to expire. I'd like to come through and housekeep a little easier and more efficiently.
