Version numbers My first download was: "PhotoPost Classifieds v2.5 Build: 2/20/06 3:01 PM" Now being shown for download is: "PhotoPost Classifieds v2.5 Build: 8/7/06 6:27 AM" Now it's great having a new version available for download, but why is it that the code set is changed but the version number remains the same? Surely it should be v2.51 ? Changing the code release without iterating the version number makes it VERY difficult to track version changes from an end user perspective. Additionally, the changelog really needs to include the changed file list between releases. I personally want to know which files I need to upload/change. I don't want to have to just blindly overwrite the lot needlessly. |
Actually customers hate when we update the present download with any bugfixes and do not change the upload date but anyway a new version will not be out until such time as we finish working on polishing any changes that are being made. I can tell you 2.51 which will be coming out is merely like Reviewpost just bugfixes and new code formatting. We may through users a new bone or two but thats it. |
