This is already coded into the program. If you enable the zipcode integration then the zipcode must be filled in on upload

I am running classified 4.02 integrated with VB 4.0.3 and the zip code field is no longer required on upload. I thought maybe I had made changes to the template so I reverted back to the original but have the same results. I know that it was working on previous versions, and I am not sure when it stopped. Is it possible that an upgrade didn't process correctly or something? The title and custom field blank errors work fine.
Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

The zipcode field is most definately required if you have it enabled. Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
This functionality has not changed a popup box displays saying you must fill in the zipcode to continue. The fact the title and extra fields work tell me that you have the zipcode feature off in admin.

I agree that the code is there in the template, but it is not requiring it. Any chance you could go take a look? no zip listing Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
Is there another setting which controls this? Thanks for the quick reply.

I've noticed this on my board also. It doesn't force a zip code if you create and ad. If I got back and edit an ad, it then requires one.

Is the above code posted by Chuck the patch?
Thanks...
BTW Don, thanks again to you and Chuck for the Canadian Postal Codes. Chuck graciously uploaded them for us....
I put my ZIP CODE in for my ads, but I still haven't see anyone use it yet, as it still says "No Zip Code" on the category display. I assume it requires another member who has his ZIP CODE plugged in someplace to look at my advert, then it will compare theirs with mine? I'm not quite sure how it works?
Regards,
Doug

Doug what is above was for someone to try
As far as the canadian zipcodes the user would need to upload an ad and place a zipcode on it and then when you place your zipcode when viewing the ad you will get a distance calculation.

I put my zipcode in the ads I place under user "badger" ...
I then logged in under user "tester" and I see the field for zipcode, but all it says is "Distance from you" ... "No Zip Code" when the user "tester" is looking at my ads?
There's no drop down box appearing or anywhere I can see to enter my (under name tester) zip code so it can calculate anything.
Zipcode option is turned ON ...
Am I missing something?
BTW, I hope you and your family enjoy a happy and safe July 4th weekend.
Regards,
Doug
