parsing URL in descriptions

Hi I'd like the descriptions or one of the extra fields in my classifieds to be for websites or links when I type a link it is just text (not a link) is there a way (easyway ?) to make one of the extra fields a website one which actually converts http:// etc... into a link please

TIA

well this is not suggested since malicious html can be used to attack your website this is why its disabled but if you want you can always set up an extra field for a link and then disable the fixmessages line like so in uploadproduct.php

$extra1 = fixmessage( $extra1 );

to

//$extra1 = fixmessage( $extra1 );

hi omegatron thanks for that - I hadnt considered the downside verses the seeming convenience - i also run photopost gallery which does allow url parsing in the comments - is this different or open to the same abuse issue? for my fragile mind can someone explain how such a thing can be abused?

now I'm not sure what to do...whats the worst case scenario?

so parsing urls in comments is different/safer than in extra fields?
I have been using the services template and there seems to be a need from my users for an extra field for a website link within the paid advert itself - but that this is open to abuse so best avoided?
