Exclamation Easier ad template creation

Compared to other classified products out there, there's got to be an easier way to create new templates for different ad types, i.e. real estate where you put in fields for square footage, etc.

Right now you have to edit three or four files and copy them over and I doubt many of us even understand what or where to edit in the files themselves.

In other systems I have used, it was all done online via admin. You'd set the fields, type of responses (i.e. radio buttons, checklist boxes, text fields), save it, and then apply it to the category, etc. It was very easy to do and I don't see why not the good folks here can implement this into a new release as well.

I'm going to have a dozen different ad types and it's going to be a confusing pain right now to edit a dozen x 3-4 files just to do this.

The 'extra fields' can be customised per category but you only get six 'extra fields' for an which isn't much.

Radio buttons, checklist boxes, text fields, etc are in my opinion desperately needed in PhotoPost Classifieds and ReviewPost.

In terms of the different templates that are currently available it's much centred around for sale adverts for goods. I would like to use the application to say sell services. In 'service' type ads there's no need for 'condition' of product and highest bid, etc but I am not very good when it comes to hacking the template files. If I did the likelyhood of having to hack them all over again when the next version of Classifieds comes out is high.

It would be great if the develiopers could please prioritise spend some quality time on improving Classifieds and bringing it up to the same standards as PhotoPost and ReviewPost. Many people on these forums feel that Calssifieds is the poor neglected little brother.

I agree. I purchased PhotoPost Classifieds over a month ago but have yet to use it because it's a little complicated to get it to do what I want to do. I feel like I've wasted my money so far because I don't have time to learn it when it should be easy to use.
