| Installation
Hi folks,
Just bitten the bullet and bought Classifieds.
As best I can tell I've followed the installation guide but on 'installation' I'm greeted with a white screen. No error message, no anything. Admin page is the same. The only erorr I get is at
Step 3: Setting up the PhotoPost Classifieds database
Step 3: MySQL error reported: [CREATE TABLE zipData (zipcode varchar(10) NOT NULL default '', ZipCodeType char(3) NOT NULL default '', City varchar(128) NOT NULL default '', CityType char(3) NOT NULL default '', State varchar(64) NOT NULL default '', StateCode varchar(5) NOT NULL default '', AreaCode int(5) NOT NULL default '0', lat varchar(8) NOT NULL default '', lon varchar(8) NOT NULL default '') ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8 ]
Result: Table 'zipdata' already exists
Database: ppclassifieds
Really not sure where I'm going wrong. Really appreciate any help (complete n00b btw so really could use an idiot proof installation guide!)

Well some more information here would help like a url and some background.
Are you installing with vb or is this a standalone?
Did you complete the actual installation meaning all the way through to installing the phrases etc.
White screen can mean when installing with vb you specified the wrong path to your forum on the last step of install step 5. The solution for that is number 2 here. vBulletin Installation/Integration Common Issues and Resolutions.
I really could not diagnose any further than that without more information.

Ok, with a bit of work I've managed to trace my steps and get it installed.
HOWEVER Login - PhotoPost Classifieds
When you try and add an item theres an image conflict - the footer appears in behind the various options for adding a listing. Makes it unviewable and, thus, unusable.
It's the ONLY page (so far) that I can see this error? Code: Content visible to verified customers only.

| Main Index - PhotoPost Classifieds
Your classifieds looks different to me and your using an older version FYI
Anyway maybe you already corrected your issue because it does not look the same.
You can send a login if you want me to look as I can only respond based on what I can see.
As far as image uploads make sure you have the image processor set the same as your gallery and make sure your classifieds data and uploads folders at every level are 777 permissions.

Ah yes - I'm using a custom, WIP theme, but it is available for selection.
FYI its FS Default - Fixed
I'll pm over my login if you can have a look that would be brilliant |

yeah your older style may not have all the latest style matching options.
My initial thoughts here would make sure your using our latest code and apply any new plugins to vb4 included in there as that should help I think.
I can not say obviously because your talking a custom style. Will see if I have an email to look.

It doesnt seem to matter which of the styles I browse with, the footer element breaks.
Thumbnail size images are now loading. I'll try with larger and see if resize works.
Another bug I've just spied (before I do any upgrade) I'm not able to input a description for the product. Is this set as an option, or is this likely to be abug?
Thanks again,
M

Footer is not broken in other styles so your issue is with this specific style.
You also never finished the installation per our instructions the vb plugins for classifieds do not exist so no new style variable etc
I am gonna go see if I can install one and see if it helps.

Hi Chuck,
In 4_2 fixed (I think thats the current default) the footer does not move height but it definately did display incorrectly.
I was sure I had finished as per instructions but clearly missed out what may be a vital step. My bad |

Crikeys, that simple eh
Now to just fix the block colours and it should all be good. Are these controlled in the ppclassifieds style sheets under DEFAULT.CSS or in the main vb4 css??
Thanks again for all your help

Not sure what you mean colors?
We set the block background to the vb block background Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
That comes right from the photopost.css stylesheet and we match like I said right to the blockbody stylevar from vbulletin.

Also something to consider also if you want the vb4 navigation to appear properly you need to make sure you do not edit the default vb 4.2 navbar template
So if your using styles that are not compatible with vb 4.2 you will have issues. I noticed none of your proper naviation is shown for anything using that one style your working with.

Let me know if you have any other questions. I still do not see a navbar link so not sure if you turned that off as your not advertising you have it installed yet maybe. |
