Error after upgrade

Hi Chuck, first off the site we were working on the other day is back to normal. Thank you for your help. Upgrading Classifieds was an added bonus

I decided I would also update Classifieds on my locked down test site just to keep it current for testing and I am getting a really weird error message. The upgrade was from 5.11 to 5.21 under VB 4.1.2pl2 I tried to globaly disable all plugins just in case it was a plugin conflict but I got the same error message.

The actual error is pages long. Here are the fist few lines...

That doesn't sound like a classifieds error.

I am using a clean 5.21 right here have from the get go.

Main Index - Reeftalk Classifieds

All our products integrate with vb4 the same way so I would need alot more info here. Not sure what our product would do to cause that error. If plugins are disabled definately do not see how our product could cause that since vbulletin has no idea classifieds exists. The plugins only show classifieds stuff on your forum.

I just do not see how our upgrade could do that. If you uninstall your classifieds plugins does the error persist?

I just reinstalled the plugins for classifieds in 5.21 and my site is fine.

Ok, if you do not mind, I sort of broke the rules a bit so I can show you the error by installing this on the live site that this was going to be tested against. I am licensed for Classifieds jsut not this version. The lockdown site I refer to is a mirror image that is used purely for testing and is not accessable to anyone at any time. I was trying to test ahead of purchasing but unfortunatly the only way to show you is to install it where you can see it.

I'll have to buy an upgrade afterwards I guess since I wont be able to roll it back. If you need me to re-new my license first just let me know, and I'll take care of it Monday regardless. If you help prior I will make sure to turn the software off until the purchase is made.

The site is turned off, I have manualy disabled all plugins. The only things showing active are: VB, Sphinx, Forum Runner, vBulletin Blog & CMS.

I will leave it this way for awhile in hopes I catch you online and you have a moment to look at it.

I have Classifieds 5.21 uploaded and have run the upgrade.php on it and the admin panel now shows the software upgraded. I also replaced the 2 config files editing them with the correct information so all the files are fresh and from the same archive.

I CHMOD 777 the files within the install folder and generated the new XML.

Even on the live site it is giving me this error, when I try to import the XML.

You would actually have to send site details though the contact us link for me to look at your issue.

I have installed classifieds on my site and many vb4 sites and see no issues.

If your saying you are installing classifieds on a site tied to a license copy that is expired and not renamed yes you would need to take care of that in short order.

What I would suggest though is you make sure your not using any third party hacks do not know what Sphinx is. I have the standard latest vb 4.21 or whatever there latest is installed on my site the suite. I do not use forum runner or sphinx. So really try disabling products other than the forum and classifieds and do the plugin cut down the chance of it being an interaction with a third party thing like sphinx.

NM seems there is some sort of DB issue. Will turn the software off until purchased. Sigh...

Link to classifieds showing it is turned off.
Message - Hostboard Classifieds & Auctions

I have also disbaled the plugin as there are no links present in the navbar anymore.

Will rectify the version issue no latter then Monday. My intent was for testing only in a closed environment and not on a live site. Went live to show error only to have it be an internal issue, which is now resolved.

Yeah I kind of figured the issue you where having was not with our program which is why I asked to look. The error was with a vbulletin database table that our program does not deal with.

You can have a closed test site that is permissible on a license provided it is not web accessible.

My comment about renewing a license which you brought up to begin with is if you have multiple sites and multiple licenses which you indeed do. You can not use code say from site A and then use that code to also upgrade site B which has a license expired for the current code. That would be a violation because for example the site your showing expired for code access 2 years ago. Not a big deal I know you will take care of it.
