| Upgrade Issues Missing Info
Hey Chuck,
We've just updated Photopost Classifieds on our vBulletin 4 site (digitalweddingforum.com) yesterday and are experiencing several major problems with it.
We've just updated Photopost Classifieds on our vBulletin 4 site (digitalweddingforum.com) yesterday and are experiencing several major problems with it.
1) The entire navbar is missing, users can't add new products or navigate the other features of the classifieds script
2) the vB4 template integration seems poor and out of whack, there are a lot of scattered elements on the individual product pages and other places. Is this supposed to be like this?
Please have a look through the classified system and let us know what we need to do to fix this.

There are absolutely no issues with our classifieds product and vbulletin 4.
That is a clean install looks fine to me. Main Index - Reeftalk Classifieds
You would have to place a url for us to comment on your issue.

Hi Chuck... most of our system is member only so if you need to see more how can I supply you with that info?
I can't post the URL to our site because I haven't made 15 posts yet so please join these two strings together.

This is an easy answer. You have not completed the installation as noted in our installation instructions. Main Index - DWF Classifieds
You can read the installation instructions in the documentations folder of the downloaded code or right here on our site. PhotoPost PHP Photo Sharing Photo Gallery Installation Guide
If you note at the bottom of the install instructions there is a special note for vbulletin 4 users as we have plugins that need to be installed to complete the installation process. You need to make sure to follow the instructions there. Here they are Quote:
IMPORTANT - FOR VBULLETIN 4 ONLY. New plugins included in download.
In the install directory set permissions on the file product_class.xml, source-vb4.xml and source-vb42.xml files to 777
2. Go to your classifieds admin panel ( http://www.yoursite.com/classifieds/adm-index.php ) and hit the option to generate vbulletin plugin xml. That file will download to your computer.
3. Go into your vbulletin admin panel and under plugins & products select the option to manage products. You can then use the add/import product option
and upload the xml file you downloaded to your computer called product_class.xml file. Once that is done your forum will show gallery content.
4. Thats it your done!!
Please read the CHANGELOG.TXT FILE so you know what to expect from version upgrades. | Once you do that your installation you have now will be complete. |

Hi Chuck...
We followed those instructions and after installing, we noticed a few things were fixed.
However we now have a problem with nav block at the top of photopost classifieds.
As you can see by going here to our skin some of it is not there?
www dot digitalweddingforum dot com/classifieds/index.php
But if you switch to our default skin this is what it looks like (via screenshot below). Note the differences? Any ideas on where we should start digging to figure out why they are not appearing?

Thanks for your help.

Maybe try reinstalling the actual plugins for the classifieds if you installed more styles since you installed. Our plugin is designed how vb4 defaulty does things so if your navigation varies you could have issues with this specific custom style.

Like I said if your style does not conform to the vb4 standards then your navigation may not work can not say without seeing it but there is no service that is going to majically make something work how it is not suppose to work.
I can check your site for free as thats support. If I find your style is the culprit you may need to ask your style developer how things work different so you can make things work.
Just my thoughts here on this.
If you want a more accurate answer I would need a full admin login to look how you have things setup otherwise I am just guessing.

It would be good to know if there was an answer for this, because it looks applicable to my problem. I uploaded all the files again and imported the product, but am still missing the navbar. http://www.carscene.ca/classifieds/index.php
Thanks

Your not using the product plugin from what I see. Try uninstalling any classifieds plugins you have installed in vb and installing our latest plugins. Make sure to remove any hand created navigation links you made as well.
The reason I know you are not using our plugin is because when you click on your navbar link it does not get highlighted. If the plugin was installed correctly it would be. Main Index - Reeftalk Classifieds

OK, I went to Reeftalk classifieds, registered, and I don't see a navbar to post a new ad there either!
When I go to my team buick classifieds it has the navbar. I tried two browsers.

You definately see a navbar on my site logged in or logged out. If you click the classifieds link on my site it is the highlighted tab. Under it is a submenu. I have verified that.
The point I am making is on your site when I click classifieds your forum tab is the highlighted on so your plugins are not installed correctly.
You can send us info to check out in your vb admin any plugins or nav links to see what is going on.

I found your admin login through our email system on an issue we helped a month ago.
Your issue was simple Bob!!
You hacked your navbar template in vbulletin which caused your issues. Once I reverted the vbulletin navbar template to its standard state and then reimported the plugins things work fine.
