| Xenforo & Photopost Classifieds Error
During the installation, I encountered a couple of minor issues (mostly due to severely outdated or missing information in the Classifieds installer), and when making it to Step 4 of the installation script, I keep running into an unrecoverable error.
Here's the information I entered:
Link:
Forum integration: XenForo (1.0)
Administrator Email Address:
URL to Forum directory:
Forums database prefix: N/A
Forum cookie prefix: N/A
phpBB3 cookies name: N/A
UBB threads: N/A
Website name: Sitenamehere
Website URL to homepage:
URL to PP Classifieds script directory:
Clicking "Configure PhotpPost" then throws the following error:
We're sorry, but the system experienced an unrecoverable error. Please try again later. |

I had to remove the urls cause i dont have 15 posts.
The guy trying to install it said this: I spent about 20 minutes trying to solve this, but got nowhere. I'd advise you to check with Chuck at PhotoPost to get this handled, as I really wouldn't know how to get this fixed for you.

well seriously your issue I would suspect is not using the correct information to do a correct install. The reason I say this is your error tells me we can not grab the forum info that is it means. In a default xenforo install the table prefix I think is xf_ and the cookie prefix is usually xf_
You have entirely too many things answered as n/a to be right. You need to have your install check the xenforo config or settings file can not remember what its called with that forum and he can also check the database tables.

Hi Chuck,
I'm Peter, the installation guy. I never considered using xf_ as a prefix, as it's default table names. vB has the option where you can prefix tables, where no such thing exists on XenForo. Maybe it would be nice to add that to the documentation, or even better, auto-fill it in when XenForo is picked as the forum of choice?
As for the other settings, none of them seem remotely related to XenForo, so I'm not sure why you would call one setting "entriely too many things answered as n/a".

Adding xf_ did the trick, though. However, my comment remains. The description of the field is worded in such a way that is seems to indicate this required a manual action from the user: Quote: |
Forums database table prefix for your forum (you may have chosen this initially when you installed your forum - leave blank if none or default):

Well the install is a manual process for the installer when it comes to the inputs. The correct information always has to be used.
Remember you are telling me those settings are not applicable where as they really are. That is really all I am saying there. If you do not input the correct mysql or cookie prefix's it is hard to install it to correctly integrate.

Chuck,
We now have the test system working on XenForo. What would be the best way to switch the Classifieds system after we move the forum from vB to XenForo? Any thoughts or ideas?
Cause we dont want to lose the statistics of value of items sold etc. from the photopost classifieds we currently have integrated with vbulletin.
Thanks
Peter
