Thumbnails are not creating

I did a fresh install at www . carolinashootersclub . com/classifieds - Carolina Shooters Club Classifieds with no errors... works great except it is not creating thumbnails.

I have GD2 enabled... photo uploads fine. I have checked the chmod on all permissions and they are correct.

I do not have image magic on my server... any tips on how to get this to work?

what is the error you get?

I would suggest that you make sure the data directory and every last directory beneath it are 777 permissions.

No error. Just no thumbnails.

All 777

Hey Chuck... I got the thumbnails to work. Now I'm wondering how to use the vBulletin 4.1.10 profile and not the classified profile? Member List... etc seems to be built into the classifieds separately. No way to have this link to the native forum?

Chuck S February 9th, 2012 09:44 PM

the forum profile is the forum profile and as such in classifieds the profile for classifieds is the classifieds profile.

Can't use the main forum profile?

Just another profile to have member fill out.

No you can not there is no switch for that. Maybe in the future sure but not right this minute. PhotoPost Pro just got that option a couple of weeks ago when we released PP8.

I'm having the same problem as this user, should I continue in this thread, or start another? How was this resolved?

Thank you

Chuck S February 14th, 2012 05:15 PM

There is no option if you asking not to go to the classifieds profile and only go to vb profile.

Jman423 February 14th, 2012 05:27 PM

I should have made that more clear, sorry.

I am not able to get my thumbnails working. My photos upload fine, and permissions are fine. This user said he figured it out, so I was curious what the resolution was. I've tried GD2 and ImageMagick with no luck.

Chuck S February 14th, 2012 06:07 PM

if you do not get thumbnails your photos do not upload fine.

what errors do you get?

How about an actual url and test user login.

Jman423 February 14th, 2012 07:16 PM

I can create a test account, where do I need to send the credentials?

Depending on whether I have ImageMagick or GD2 chosen, I either get no error at all, or "Error creating thumbnail! Error code: 1"

Chuck S February 14th, 2012 08:21 PM

error code 1 means permissions which tells me

1. server path to the data directory is wrong

2. safe mode is on

3. permissions are not correct all the way down data and uploads folders.

You can send info through the contact us link in our site header.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, def a problem there buddy. Do like Drayton says and double check the folder permissions.

Chuck S February 16th, 2012 01:01 PM

Actually this guys issue is a server one. The classifieds application is creating his images and permissions are fine. You try and view the actual files through a direct link and they can not be found even though they are there and permissions are 644.

That is some weird server thing.

Do you think it could be related to vBSEO?

Chuck S February 16th, 2012 01:40 PM

Can not say you could try turning it off and see. vbSEO is not suppose to work on our application.

Like I told you if I use the direct urls to those images they do not show something is blocking the display server side. It can be your host it can be vbseo I would not know what type of server restriction is going on but showing your host a direct link to the images and them seeing they are not viewable while they also see the files do exist and are valid and permissions are fine may get them to investigate.

Before contacting them you can get rid of any htaccess your using and turn off vbseo and see if that solves it though.

Jman423 February 16th, 2012 01:42 PM

I'll give it a try and report back.

Thanks

Chuck S February 16th, 2012 01:48 PM

yeah like I said if you can not view the direct image links right off a server like I showed you that takes the script out of the equation since no script is involved. The images exist on the server and are the right permissions. If you download and view you see the image is fine so something on the server is preventing its display whether htaccess or something else.

Jman423 February 16th, 2012 02:05 PM

I'm a little confused...

I turned off vBSEO, the problem still existed. I removed all vBSEO code from the htaccess, and it started working. I put the EXACT same code back in the htaccess, and it still works. I also enabled vBSEO again, and everything is still working.

In the end, it did have something to do with vBSEO, but I'm not sure exactly what it was. I'll keep an eye on it and see if I encounter any more problems.
