2.x to 4.1 upgrade leaves issues

Hi

Ive skipped a bunch of versions

I was able to get the upgrade done but there are pieces that are missing

the entire left side of the admin cp is mostly blank

the top part of the index.php is also missing some pieces

I know I missed something
Any help would be appreciated

I reuploaded the default files with FTP just to be sure

You forgot to run the part that stated to import the language phrases. Language has been moved into the database with the 3 series.

I did all the steps in both the upgrade script and the doc I read

( i think )

Where is the missing step ? Where did i overlook it ?

I have 4 more installs to do ?

Make sure to run the import phrases part when upgrading prior to version 3.1

I just did the second upgrade and there is no link that I see in the upgrade script that says import phrases

Where do Io find it ?

Never mind I simply went to phrases.php in the browser ...

There should be a link on the upgrade to import phrases.

Ive checked the script twice - on 2 installs - never saw any link

There is a link to install language phrases on the upgrade but as you said its all good now.

Which upgrade version link contains the link you speak of ? I started with V 2.5 I think ...

its on the main upgrade screen.

Yes, the link is there on the main upgrade.php screen but if I recall correctly it doesn't say anything about *when* to click the link. I ran into a similar issue.
