Image Magick installation

I suspect I need to do a php install. So far, all I am getting in local machine installations and not remote server installs.

This is a real downer because it's essential for a good classified. I was not aware of this third party app requirement.

I am trying to find a good step by step installation instructions that will make imagemagick compatible with my classifieds install.

I had to do a database recovery because the installation went berzerk with these settings.

/user/local/bin
/user/local/bin/ImageMajick
/user/local/bin/mogrify

I have a support ticket with my service provider for them to find it. I dont think they have it installed...

You can also type whereis mogrify but yes if they do not have it installed then you will need to use GD2.

I switched to GD and installation went 'OK' except the script was showing duplicate entries for everything (did I mention I tried an ImageMagick install which crashed).

I got the the registration page and I choose, 3rd party vbulletin registration and I got the following error

Quote:
Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) in /hermes/bosweb/web252/b2521/glo.lgattenby/gearjunkie/classifieds/install.php on line 1271
I cannot connect to the Members database.

You use whatever gd your server has gd1 hasnt been around for many years

If you cant connect to the members database that tells me the user database info you entered in the config settings for the user database is incorrect.

what do you mean user controls?

If you log into admin area as admin and you have a whole left pane of options it is installed correctly. Without actually seeing the site all I can do is suggest what issues might be. To reinstall you simply rerun the install script again and answer everything correctly.

Our administration is not in the vb admin panel

To administer your classifieds you need to go to your classifieds be logged in and you will see the admin link in our menubar.

Right..

Well, Good new, bad new..

Bad news, crashed my forum (again). Good news, I have the databases backup up and can recover in less then 5 minutes.

(throws in towel).

I will probably defer to you guys doing a paid install. The problem is that my server doesnt support telnet or SSH (would of saved me a hell of a lot of time if they did). Can you guys still do an install without it?

Additionally, I have an install that I paid for (gallery) that I ended up not having to use (thanks guys). Can I transfer that install ticket to classifieds?

We can do an install with just ftp access. If you want to apply the install that is still awaiting your agreement simply return your agreement to customer service which authorizes the install and tell them you want this to be for classifieds not the gallery and they will release that install to me.
