Question Zip Code Installation

Hi I just want to verify what is needed for Zip Code searching. Many of the threads I am reading are a few years old. I have a third party database that i purchased from zip-codes.com. Are there instructions on how and where to load the data for the zip codes? Details are really appreciated.

Thanks,
Brian

well we use a table in our database called zipData and you can find the fields there in the classifieds database.

I am posting the structure here as a courtesy. You would need to create an importable sql or txt file with the necessary fields in the correct order in order to use any new entries.

our included zipdata is a free us zipcode entries.

Hi Chuck,

Thanks for the information... Do you provide services to import data like this or can you recommend who might do so. I have the database I purchased but do not know programming.

well the problem is that its not programming.

You would need to edit the cvs or txt file you recieved and match the columns up to the format of the zipData table.

Using a spreadsheet application on your home computer is the best way to create a new csv or txt file to import into phpmyadmin database viewer.
