Category Pages Not Being Created
 

I think I'm having a CHMOD issue. The Classifieds Index page loads fine when I have the classifieds folder set to 755:

Owner: RWE
Group: R E
All Users: R E

When I set it to 777, I get the following error when trying to load the Classifieds Index page:

Internet Explorer cannot download classifieds/ from gator1116.hostgator.com.

Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later.

When the classifieds folder is set to 655 and I try to click on a category name, I get this error:

Internet Explorer cannot download g5-mustangs-for-sale.html from gator1116.hostgator.com.

That's because that page doesn't exist.

well the classifieds folder should be 755 so not sure why your trying to set it to 777.

As far as your category page loading you are trying to use SEO urls are you sure your server supports mod rewrite? Have you renamed the HTACCESS file to .htaccess?

If you still have issues loading the category view try turning the seo setting in global options to none and see if things load.
