I will let you know if I see anything as I stated database alerts and cookie settings are two separate things. You can post database errors as you wish.

Have you seriously tried disabling your plugins and seeing if the cookie issue exists.

I would think this is going to come down to a plugin conflict or maybe some custom code in your header etc.

Our example here and the site I posted in threads clearly show as long as cookies are set right.

Now your cookies work absolutely fine without the vb3 headers so its something in your vb messing up the cookie thing because our code of cookie authentication is working fine without the header. The very fact our examples work with the header might point to plugin or other code that might not be standard. This is where I would start.

I've just had a thought----the time in vb is different to the time in the classifieds by hours. There is a 900 second log out time on vb--could this explain why being logged out--if the user switches from vb time to classifieds time--vb would think they have been gone for hoursand were logging back in, especially if the remember me isn't ticked

Ill try and set them exactly the same, see what happens.

Guess not that.
Although i have to set the time as +6 for the uk time, doesn't make sense to me

The GMT setting in global options can match up the time but I dont think that would help thats just to correct post times. Your browser cookies are read by the browser.

what is strange on your site is the login works fine with the vb enhanced interface turned off. You see this as well right?

So to me it comes down to something different about your vb as far as I can tell. I cant replicate it on any of my sites or here thus far.

Not quite, the issue is there without the vb headers etc.
If you tick the remember me box--you do not get logged out without the headers
If you don't tick the remember me box--you can go from forum to classifeds, but not back without getting logged out.
If you click on the forum link in the classifieds, you get logged out regardless.

With the vb headers active the problem is much worse and esp if the remember me box isnt ticked.

Its also different browsers, i use firefox, some people use IE, the problem is the same whatever is used

Actually it was your specific site I am referring to since you turned off the vb3 enhanced integration.

I logged in fine without the remember me box and was logged into classifieds throughout, it was not till I turned on the vb3 header that I saw issues on your site.

The examples I show here other users here as well as me can confirm if you do not click the remember me box you are still logged in.

Main Index - PhotoPost Classifieds

Hense this is why I have been stuck on the plugins and modifications to any sites in question since I have seen both sites and they have alot of plugins.

You can try replacing in vb3.php

this

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
with say this

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
see if that helps you
