What changes in yesterday's build?

There is a new build dated 11/8/08 and I used two files from it to fix a problem of Avatars not showing on my users.

This worked great... but what else changed in yesterday's build?

Do I need to upload more files or all the files? Are there any database changes?

And why does my Classifieds install show that it is version 3.03 and the notice right about it tells me that "3.02 Available"?

I just uploaded those two fixed files to help someone with avatar sigpic issues nothing else has changed.

The notice thing I need to tell Scott to update that does not matter really your version is shown under statistics where it says version.

I would disagree with you Chuck... when selling software stuff like this might not "really matter" because it works and it's just a nuisance error, but these kinds of things are very important to users. If the program was free then OK you have an excuse. But with the cost of the software and lic renewals then this kind of thing leaves a bad impression.

It's like the config-intc. Which keeps asking for the path to Photopost.

Well, that's fine for the Photopost application, but not for the Classifieds application and it's been like that for YEARS.

Well your really debating symantics here. Classifieds is PhotoPost all our applications are PhotoPost as that is our site name. You are running Photopost Classifieds. Photopost has 4 applications.

I beleive the actual message is

// Path to your PhotoPost installation

We can change that to PhotoPost Classifieds but really thats not a bug.

I have Photopost, Reviewpost and Classifieds installed.

All three are in different directories.

When I read: "// Path to your PhotoPost installation" I expect you to mean the honest to goodness path to my Photopost installation. If I put the path to my Photopost installation into that Classifieds Admin option the program won't work.

Don't you think you should change that? Don't you think that is a thing that should have been corrected LONG ago? Doesn't that irk you that the Congfig file in Classifieds tells users to enter the path to Photopost? It should. I don't think you should be defending it.

If it's Photopost, Reviewpost and Photopost Classifieds (which is dumb if you ask me) then at the very least use the correct terminology in each respective application for goodness sakes. Is that asking too much?

Maybe they are the same to you (by you I mean the company), but they are not the same to us users and the wording is in accurate.

I'm not trying to give you a hard time Chuck. I hope you'll share these criticisms with the powers that be at All Enthusiast. I hope this will light a fire under the CEO there and he'll decide to invest in not only fixing issues that users have with these products but make these products worth using. I have a little money and 3 or 4 years invested in running these things. It would be to my advantage to have the products massively improved.

But maybe what the company is saying is that these products are dead ends and you're simply trying to milk them for all you can without any further investment. And, if that's the case then I'm wasting my breath (so to speak.)

Wow, maybe I hit the nail on the head with that last statement. Here's what it says on the Classifieds webpage: "PhotoPost Classifieds 2.61 now available!" Of course, the version is 3.03 but your website doesn't seem to know it.

None of the products are dead ends if they where we would not be releasing new versions and actually supporting the products.

I have sent emails about the version numbers listed on the news script and website but that stuff is out of my hands as I do not do that stuff.

Thanks Chuck. I'm sorry to give you a hard time. You seem to be the only one around. I realize your position and that it's not your company or software.

Whom is in charge? Is it possible to reach them with my issues?

I am for the most part the only one around on support sure.

As far as the news scripts I did send an email about them updating them but this does not indicate any issue with the software which is my concern here.

As far as I see the only issue you had with the software was you did not like that it said path to photopost in the config and I actually already took care of that when I released a new bug fix version yesterday for Classifieds. reviewpost already said path to reviewpost.
