Upgrade problem from version 2.5 to 3.2

I've just upgraded to the latest version however I have run into a few problems. The installation appeared to go ok however minus a style sheet, the page is orange and the page does not have a style. I entered the admin panel ok so proceeded to change the config file. I entered my website path settings and then saved the file but recieved the following error after saving: 'We're sorry, but the system experienced an unrecoverable error. Please try again later'.
I have no idea what I did or how to correct the error. I now cannot access the admin panel to correct the settings.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Did you by mistake change the table prefix of the classifieds tables?

You can verify the contents of config-inc.php by viewing it via your ftp client and download the file.

The config files are the same as the old version:

$VERSION = "3.01";
$PP_PATH = "/var/www/html/classifieds";
$host="localhost";
$database="u******_com_-_fpclassifieds";
$mysql_user="u*****p";
$mysql_password="************";
$host_bb="localhost";
$pp_db_prefix = "cp_";
$database_bb="u******_com_-_u************m";
$user_bb="u*****p";
$password_bb="************";

I don't know what I did wrong!

Is it possible to do a fresh install and then import the user data in later?

No you can not do this.

You must properly upgrade a database. Without seeing a site I can not be real sure of any errors other than it looks like you have not ran the upgrade script.

Thanks for your reply.

What do you advise me to do next? I have contacted you via email but no reply as of yet and it is no longer possible to pm you for support.

Is there a support ticket system or should I simply purchase installation service again?

I do not want to provide a link to my website on this board since this information is private.

I just realized that you offer an upgrade service so I have purchased that just now. I sent you the login details via email yesterday.
