Hmmm, looks very much like this bug I reported almost a year ago:
User reports the following error with 2.6.1

Would have thought Photopost would have had time to get this bug fix in my now.... lame.

what is the full error? I am not seeing any slashes or anything like your previous ad

I entered that exact query you posted here into my database with no problems so I fail to see what its failing on. There is the backend entry I did of course its missing the photos but that query was sound

Hmmm, probably some other special character you don't like. Perhaps the ' in front of '23ft that you omitted from your test.

I did not omit anything there. I copied and pasted in my test

The apostrophes your talking about is what is in our program like so as nothing was ommitted from the query I show it so a valid query which is why I asked for the rest of the query error message. Your posting only half an error message. Thats why I asked you what the rest of the message was. It would tell you specifically what your mysql did not like.

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.

Thats only half an error error message. Your site is not giving you the problem? Usually after the query post there is a message that explains where in the query your mysql is having an issue.

Okay try posting the query without the description like so

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
I think in the end this is going to come down to a buggy mysql version on your server. I do not see anything in the query that should cause an error at all. Before you had a problem with a / in a title which was strange enough. Now I would suspect your program comes from commas in a description which should not be a problem with any mysql version I know of. You can try same sort of fix in image-inc.php

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
However I would suggest that the mysql on that server be upgraded and you see if this issue is then not null and void.

That does not mean there might not be an issue. I am trying to determine what it is hiccuping on.

Is it the description if so does what I post help.

Got another report from a user today with a similar problem:

Database error! Please report to System Administrator.

INSERT INTO pp_products (id,user, userid, cat, date, title, description, keyword s,bigimage,bigimage2,bigimage3,bigimage4,bigimage5 ,bigimage6,approved,watermarked,ipaddress) values(NULL,'Duckman Racing', 10205, 8, 1216751587, '10'x10'x6' Dog Kennel w/ dog house', '10\'x10\'x6\'H Dog kennel in excellent condition. No longer have a need for this kennel. Similar kennels cost around $200 new. Also have a large (or possibly extra-large?) plastic dog house to go with the kennel. If you do not want the dog house I will take $25 off the price of the kennel. Dog house does have some damage from being chewed on, but still in good shape. (cost $50-$60 new) If you would like dimensions on the dog house let me know. Will deliver within 50 miles of Grant for 50 cents per mile. Edit: PM for pictures as I can not seem to get them to load.', 'Kennel House Dog Pen Fence', '', '', '', '', '', '', 1, '', '205.137.190.254')

Hopefully we can bring this to some closure.

Yes I did. The user tried to post the classified again and told me this:

"I tried posting the same text and it failed again, but when I changed the title and the description to remove the apostrophes it went through with no problems."

The only thing that gets me here is why the apostrophe's are not addslashes on your setup normally. On uploadproduct we run title and desc through our code sanitizer checker the function typecast and it should properly addslashes if needed.

Now you can try changing in image-inc.php these two lines to this and see if it works by adding apostrophe's in a title and desc and see if it is successful

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.

I tried that and was able to successfully post the ad, but it looks kindof ugly. Here's what the description looks like after posting:

Quote:
10\'x10\'x6\' Dog Kennel w/ dog house
Note the slashes added.

PhotoPost Classifieds - Test Ad's

There is default code unaltered in any way and I can enter any of your descriptions or titles without fail which I beleive I have posted before. I am using pretty new versions of PHP 5 and MYSQL 5 on my server. I am beginning to think whatever version of mysql you have on that server might have a bug. it would explain why this is just you everytime reporting this and only you.

We already sanitize and process those two variables yet you still have issues.

See addslashes in PHP should never add slashes into the database. Essentially that addslashes I gave you above should simply escape those apostrophes in the variables when the query is entered so when it passes and enters into the database you just get the database however you have the actual slashes being entered as well which should never be entered. See if mysql sees this \' then on the insert they should just enter ' but on your server it is not doing that it is entering \'

OH YOUR RUNNING AN ALPHA

5.027 here

That is probally your issue the mysql your running. My test does show without any code alterations I can post apostprophe's in titles or descriptions without those issues. We do run those variables through our typecast sanitizer function which does add addslashes.

Here is my NOC's response:

Welcome to the MySQL monitor. Commands end with ; or \g.
Your MySQL connection id is 8996594
Server version: 5.0.51a-community MySQL Community Edition (GPL)

Type 'help;' or '\h' for help. Type '\c' to clear the buffer.

mysql>

And the version of php is php5.2.5:

root@srv [~]# php -v
PHP 5.2.5 (cli) (built: Jan 13 2008 14:29:42)
Copyright (c) 1997-2007 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v2.2.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2007 Zend Technologies
with XCache v1.2.2, Copyright (c) 2005-2007, by mOo
with Zend Extension Manager v1.2.0, Copyright (c) 2003-2007, by Zend Technologies
with Zend Optimizer v3.3.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2007, by Zend Technologies

So both versions of mysql and php installed are up to date.
