| Photopost Classifieds 3.0 Released 3-09-08
====================
VERSION UPDATE: 3.00
====================
PhotoPost Classifieds 3.0 is a major update with new features our users have requested as well any bug fixes to date. As always this is a work in progress but figured I would throw this out there for you all to test. I will be looking at the suggestions forum for other ideas so please limit posting in the beta forum to issues.
New features:
. Ability to upload Quantities of Ads
. Message Board (for stand-alone systems to use as a mini-forum)
. Private Messaging (PMs, notices for activity on ads, new ads from buddies,
message board activity)
. Built-in RSS (per category basis)
. Usergroup optimization resulting in significant reductions in memory usage for medium-large sites
. Invites System for users to invite and track invitiations
. Buddy Lists
. Who's Online page
. Internal Registration - Avatars, Titles and Signatures
. Redesigned minor areas of showproduct page
. Redesigned global sidebar element to include all pages not just showcat or showproduct like earlier versions when you elect to show the sidebar globally
. Redesigned profile page - buddy lists, more stats, bio pages
. combined usergroup queries into 1 query versus multiple for each usergroup membership
. CAPTCHA image verification for new registrations
. Use of icons versus text on showphoto page (famfam icons)
. Addition of french and german languages which are current as of 2.61.
. Added updated myBB forum integration to correct changes made in 1.2 update of that forum.
. Added support for phpBB3
. Ability to Buy Quantities of Ads
. Ability to specify an external image for a category avatar instead of tagging an ad.
. Subscription Capability using Paypal and IPN added. You can add/edit subscriptions and list subscribers all from admin. They are bumped into whatever new group you set the subscription to use and you can assign permissions accordingly
. Payment and Buy It portions moved to use the new payment verification system.
. Ability to set the a logo to use on the paypal cart
. Ability to specify your paypal email if you allow users to buy your ad on ad upload instead of having to set your user account email to the paypal account email.
. Ability to relist an ad and be prompted for payment if usergroup is set to have to pay.
. All tables changed to utf collation to assist in proper support for all foreign languages.
. Ability to set a number of free ads per group to override payment till that limit is reached.
. switch added to turn new icons versus text links off or on
Upgraded files
/*.php (except config-inc.php, config-int.php, inc_ads.php, inc_classifieds.php, install.php)
New files:
/board.php
/cap.php
/external.php
/online.php
/payment_verification.php
/subscriptions.php
forums/*.php (you only need the file the corresponds to your version)
languages/*.php (you only need the file that corresponds to your language)
templates/*.tmpl (there are new templates)
images/*.png (new famfam icons)
images/*.gif (new images)
You will need to run the upgrade.php script after updating your files as there are many changes. It is very important you
upload all the new files except your config files and header footer files etc as most everything has changed.

You would sign into your members area and download the latest code. If your members access is expired you would need to renew your access.

right now I'm still using 1.1.4, but there is a new public beta of SMF 2.0 and you should also support it obviously... |

We do not support beta software for the record until it goes gold. However we do support both at this time to my knowledge.

I have a question about this item:
Paypal Logo Url for Cart?
Must be a 150x150 image.
I have tried entering just the file name, a URL to a filename, even a directory path to a filename and I never see the image show up anywhere, all I get is the button that says proceed to payment or whatever on it, not my nice graphic. Is there a particular format this graphic must be in? .GIF, JPEG, something else? Is a URL like http://www.mysite.com/image.jpg what it is looking for?
Where exactly should this image show up? (I assume in place of the button that you would normally click to go to PayPal to initiate payment)
Thanks in advance!

To my knowledge it is a full url to some image.
It should show up on paypal not classifieds.

Chuck,
I have a question about the first item on the new feature list:
. Ability to upload Quantities of Ads
Shouldn't that say "ability to upload ads with quantities of an item" ?
I see no way to upload multiple ads at once, only a single ad where I could say that I am selling widgets and have say 15 widgets in stock to sell.
Am I correct or am I missing some way to upload multiple ads, say 5 car ads for 5 different cars all uploaded at once (ala batch picture uploads in vbgallery, etc.)
Thanks!

there is no bug that I see in our code all you do is put a url to an image not html. If you have put html in a setting that is used for non html like a url then thats your issue.
Did you place html there not just a link?
