Installation Problems, having trouble

Hello, Im wondering how to integrate the photopost classifieds into a common sign in.

I finally got that installed, however the forum and photopost arent using the same sign in..

They are using the same member database.

Many thanks

Terrie

EDIT: just to add, that Ive been going through the settings to set them up for my board, and have set the cookie info to same as the board, however now photopost Classifieds has unregistered me and I no longer have any access to the Admin Panel.

How can I get back in there to change the cookie settings, I thought my board settings would be common to the classifieds also.

I have tried clearing cookies numerous times however still cannot longin back into the Admin panel to change anything nor fix this.

well without knowing more info my answers can only be very general here

Your forum cookies need to be set to something like this

cookie path /

cookie domain .domain.com

You can then install Photopost to integrate with the forum and depending on your forum integration you might need to place the proper cookie prefix etc but alas we need more info on what forum etc maybe a url to each program and a test login to tell you what we see wrong

Hi Chuck, thankyou for your reply. I went into the sql database and changed my cookie path to /. I was then able to log back into the Admin panel for the classifieds. I then set my board in to that same cookie path.

I cannot stay logged into both the board and the photo classifieds, as soon as I log into one, it logs me out of the other.

I have created a test account for you.

User Name : Test1
Password: test

My forum URL www.mlptp.net can also be accessed without side navigation ( frameset) from http://mlptp.net/phpBB/index.php

Photo Classifieds current URL: http://www.mlptp.net/pp-classifieds/index.php

I would like to integrate the two... though currently the biggest problem I am having is staying signed in on both the board and the classifieds.

Cookies set to your recommendations on both board and classifieds.

Thanks again for your help.

Terrie

You need to ensure on install you set the proper cookie prefix for phpbb which is phpbb2mysql

Your phpbb forum should be set as far as cookies like this

cookie path /

cookie prefix phpbb2mysql

cookie path .mlptp.net

Hi Chuck, those are the exact settings I have.. I have those same setting in my board Admin and the Classifieds.
I just came this morning, and had to sign into my board ( It shouldnt be like that, as I checked the box to keep the cookie last night) , soon as I clicked to go to another thread I was logged out.
I then logged into classifieds, after that I was able to stay logged into the board.

I keep having to clear my cookies every time I am logged out, just so I can get back in.

This is a problem for members ( there are over 1500 of those) as the classifieds isnt live yet and there is cookie problems for them now.

How can I stay logged into my board, without having to be logged into the classifieds?

thanks again,

Terrie

Just to add.

Now I cant stay logged in either of the board or the classifieds. If I log into one it logs me straight out of the other now.

I have those exact cookie settings,

What can I do... members are screaming and I cant go live with this classifieds since there are so many problems.

are there more optimum cookie settings that will work for me?

If I cant get past this cookie problem I doubt Ill be able to go with this, since I already have over 1500 members effected by the cookie issue, my email box is overflowing with "I cannot sign in" emails.

Hoping someone can help me further.

Test account:

Name Test1
PW test

Also, Is there a way that there can be one common signin , ie, members can sign in at the board and that will sign them in for the gallery also. having to sign in twice ( for both forum and gallery) is what seems to be causing the problems.

Can this cookie issue be solved?

thanks again.

Im still being logged out continually.
Chuck, Is there a way I can have a common sign in for both the board and classified? instead of having to sign in twice

Does this intergrate better with VBulletin? Its not going very well with my phpBB ..

still no better with constant logouts

any suggestions as to how I can have a combined sign in for board and classifieds?

Make sure your cookies are the same thats all I can say. The login you posted worked fine in this thread. You can email your admin login to support to test your login support@photopost.com

You sure you are allowing cookies in your browser setup?
