Merging Classifieds users With vBulletin

I have over 1000 users on the classifieds and a fresh install of vbulletin with just myself as a user.

How do I get all my classifieds users on my vBulletin database?

You can use vbulletin's impex importer to import Photopost user's so since the classifieds and photopost users tables are the same just import the photopost users into your vbulletin with there script

On to step one. Seems vbulletin wont help because photopost isnt thiers... hmmm...

Anyway. Do I need to change photoposts table prefix's?
Any suggestions?

------------------------------------------------------------
Altering tables
ImpEx will now Alter the tables in the vB database to include import id numbers. This is needed during the import process for maintaining refrences between the tables during an import. If you have large tables (i.e. lots of posts) this can take some time. They will also be left after the import if you need to link back to the origional vB userid.

They are not going to help you with a photopost product no but they should help you with there importer

I think on your impex config file you need to specify the proper database info and table prefix to grab the info. Like I said the classifieds and photopost users tables are exact so there import script for photopost pro to grab users should work fine

They have the users table misspelled you need to correct that mistake in there import file as its there mistake. dont worry about photopost tables that do not exist. The vbulletin Photopost importer only imports users nothing else and thats what you want

Ohhhh I think Im screwed.... Here is my conversation with vBulletin...

I posted....
According to PhotoPost support, "They have the users table misspelled you need to correct that mistake in thier import file as its thier mistake. dont worry about photopost tables that do not exist. The vbulletin Photopost importer only imports users, nothing else and thats what you want."

Here is the latest quote from Jerry the vBulletin/ImpEx Developer

They are wrong on both points, unless they have changed their user table name for the first part, and for the second part it imports more than the users, I know I wrote it and have been dealing with photopost imports for quite a while now.

I believe I have the ticket assigned to me, I will confirm both points soon.

Persistance pays off! lol

Jerry is going to take care of my support ticket!

"Then it has changed since the last update I did for that importer, I done a lot of photopost imports (and more than just users) and it was user then.

I've just checked and I don't have a support ticket for this one, you'll have to open it and ask for me."

Jerry is completely wrong our table has always been named users as long as Photopost Pro has been out. If he looks at our upgrade script that goes all the way back to the perl he can clearly see there is nothing where we change table names. We have not done so ever.

Well they fixed it with the help ticket... finally!

Now I have another issue/question... Now that the user table has been imported... How do i merge the two so they run off of the same database?

As of now, when someone registers on photopost, they arent added to vbulletin and vice versa... How do i get them to use the same database?

Can I tell photopost to start reading users from vbulletin's user database table and let the rest of the program continue on as usual?

You need to delete all entries under the usergroups table of photopost and rerun install.php and input all the proper info to integrate with vb3. There are also manual instructions posted in many threads under the keywords switch integration on a search

Your previous photos comments categories will not be deleted
