In spite of my best efforts, I screwed it up

I purchased PP Classifieds and tried to install it.

It is integrated with VB3 and I am already a PhotoPost customer and have that working.

I installed Classifieds in another directory and was careful to use settings similar to PhotoPost and thought I could not go wrong, but in spite of it I am prompted to log in to Classifieds, it says that I am successful when logging in, then it loads the main page and I am logged out. The same thing happens when I try to log into the control panel... it looks like the login is successful, then I am logged out.

Help is always appreciated.

If your integrating with vb3 I take it you installed with external integration and selected vb3.

I would suggest with phpmyadmin you view your photopost settings table in the database and settings 171-173 should be as this and your vbulletin should match

cookie path /

cookie prefix bb

cookie domain .domain.com

You must also ensure your correct vb license number which is at the top of every vb file is entered on the $vblicense line in our config-inc.php file

My VB customer info is correct as I copied and pasted it.

In VB, my cookie domain is set at "blank". Is that an issue? It works finr for PhotoPost.

I don't know my way around phpmyadmin but I will look at that...

Chuck S October 10th, 2006 01:48 PM

It is not suppose to be customer number it is license number that is suppose to be in that file

Pirate45 October 10th, 2006 01:51 PM

It is Chuck... I copied it right from that field in PhotoPost into Classifieds. I just used the wrong terminology.

Pirate45 October 10th, 2006 01:56 PM

License info is correct...

I am getting logged out of the CP in vBulletin now for some reason too. I checked this stuff so carefully....

Pirate45 October 10th, 2006 01:58 PM

In vBulletin "Path to save cookies" is "/" (for whole domain) and "Cookie domain" is "blank".

I can't see where to check for prefixes, etc. I don't think there are any.

Chuck S October 10th, 2006 02:02 PM

prefix is in your vb config file

If your cookies and license number are correct you should be fine. You can always post a url and test login here

Pirate45 October 10th, 2006 02:06 PM

// ****** TABLE PREFIX ******
// Prefix that your vBulletin tables have in the database.
$config['Database']['tableprefix'] = '';

Looks like that wasn't it. I am looking in phpmyadmin but I don't know what I am doing.

I can PM you login info if you like Chuck (and will pay for your time). I can't figure it out.

Pirate45 October 10th, 2006 02:14 PM

I stay logged in if I click around Classifieds but when I click on "admin" I am presented with a login screen and when I log in it says successful but instead of a control panel, I get the main page of the classifieds and I am logged out.

In double-checking everything, it still looks like everything is set right to me.

If I am looking at the right settings in phpmyadmin, settings in classifieds, this looks to be something like PayPal, etc. I don't think I am in the right spot or something.

As usual, the idiot is me. :(

I may be on the right track now Chuck. I think I have found what I did wrong.

Sorry for wasting your time and I thank you for your fine and fast responses. :)

Yes your cookie prefix was not entered correctly in the cookie settings right?

Pirate45 October 11th, 2006 05:15 AM

Bingo. :(
