Don't know if this is in or planned for the next release, but here are two simple additions that I need and have had to add to my installation:
- Update date to the Product file. I have some permanent duration type records and need to know when the record was last updated by the author. A simple add of a date during an edit would be great. As listings age, it would be very nice to let the public know if and when a record was ever updated after the day it was originally created.
- Record count of comments in Product file -- so total comments per product can be displayed without adding a heavy query load, especially on showcat. This, of course, would require some extra logic during comment processing.
It sure would be 'durn nice' to not have to add in my own code to pull in vBulletin userprofile fields in various places.
It would particularly nice to be able to format extra fields like
vB allows you to do. Drop-downs, radio, etc.
Once again, I would ask that that latitude and longitude be stored in the product file. That would be a HUGE help.
I would also ask that special consideration be given to LOCATION/ADDRESS info in the product file. This is a CORE requirement for classifieds and reviews in my little ole opinion. City, State, Zip/Postal (7 characters to allow for Canada), (Province), Country, Lat, Long are all essential in any geo-based sale/ad/listing. Contact info would be nice, but could be stored in a profile instead. Those geo fields are necessary for searching, sorting and selecting.
