reinstall promlems

me again! i had classifieds installed, i could upload as a admin but noone else could. so checked my permissions everywhere 100x over. i searched this forum over and over, no solution so i figured a bad install.

so i decided to reinstall. i 777 as instuctions, tried the bb thing. tried setting up a new db. vb# is correct. uploaded files 5x still same thing. i have carfuly checked my config inc and intc files. i get header no body w/ a error no logged on. i even tried changing the default prefix thinking maybee it was interfering. ive tried everything and triple checked everything and solution i found on here. i will pm you some info if you dont mind taking a peek.

How about posting url's here and post exact errors you do get so we can assist

You set user upload permissions in admin => Edit Usergroups and without exact errors its hard to say anything more.

well i gave up on trying to fix the upload issue so i tried reinstalling. and now im getting the not logged in error w/ no admin links. the header/footer/background show but no body just the text. i dont have a vb prefix. set cookies at bb and triple checked my vb license #. i checked to make sure my url path in my vb cp and everything looked ok.

i would also like to add that i have photopost gallary and that works fine. i went in there and checked all my intergration fields such as paths, cookies, license numbers and everything is the same info im using for classifieds. the only difference is i use default pp_ for gallary and cp_ for classifieds and nothing for vb3.5.4

Your background is easy as when you get into admin under Admin => Forum Settings you can set to use the forum style turn this to yes.

im not understanding. i cant log on to the admin. it recognizes me or any other user as a guest. almost like it will pull info for header ect. but not the user db from vbull. when i try to log on from the admin.php it takes me to the classified page and says i need to register or log on.

stuntfactoryx.com user- lindsay pass- lindsay and yes i intergrated vb3.... no to portal and vb2..... and set cookies to bb like in my vbconfig. and positive my vb license is correct.

Your Photopost is set fine.

I would suggest you recheck your classifieds. Make sure in the config-inc.php file your proper vbulletin license number is entered.

Use phpmyadmin check your classifieds settings tables make sure setting 41 says vb3. Make sure the cookie settings settings 181-183 are this

cookie path /

cookie prefix bb

cookie domain .stuntfactoryx.com

Everything I see leads me to beleive one of the above is incorrect. Specifically I think your not integrating with vb3 on setting 41 or your license number is incorrect since the user login does not authenticate if I try logging in from here. Thats a tell tale sign your license number,integration type or cookie prefix have not been entered correctly since the vbulletin password is encoded with the prefix and license number and it will not match.

ok we are getting closer. phpmyadmin line 41 i found vbversion was set to photopost. i changed it to vb3 there. now when i go on classified page the background shows. everything looks ok but i have no admin link. but it does recognize my user name at bottom browsing. when i try to access the above link you posted when i log in it says invalid log in for admin.

any ideas? another thing to note is im postitive because i have installed this several times. in the install script i set the three vb3 fields to yes and the others to no. portal ect.

i have an interesting situation. i have it semi working. i used a impex system from vb to import my board way back before i installed classifieds. well when i did that it changed my user group id #s. what i had to do is go into phpmyadmin and change the user id# for classifieds admin to match my user id# for vb admin. this is what i dont understand. when i set it up manauly to get admin permissions for classifieds back i went into the classifieds cp and updated my user groups. everything apperead to look ok. it imported several custom groups that i have in vb to classiefieds. however it did not import users awaiting email confirmation. not sure what thats all about. well after i did that it still would not allow users to place adds. so i went back into phpmyadmin and the new custom user group tables were there. howerever the reason it wount allow users to place ads is the usergroup id# was still not right. i manauly set them and it works. however im still missing that usergroup -waiting for email confirmation- i have no idea what to do to get everything back in line and why mydatabases are configuring incorectly. like i said in previous post i set everything to vb3 and i still had to manauly edit in phpmyadmin. another thing that dont make sense is i installed photopost gallery after the import and i never had any issues and it still works fine.

Hello

Basically with what your telling me. It would appear you installed Classifieds to integrate with Photopost and not VB3 which means the photopost usergroups where imported. The proper way to reset things would be to delete all entries under the usergroups table except admin with a groupid of 6. You can then resync the usergroups in the admin and set permissions. This should solve your issue
