Post Can't edit comments if spider friendly URLs on.

If I have spider friendly URLs on, when I click 'edit' it takes me to a blank page.

Turn off spu's and viola- works.

Help please.

Hi Chuck,

I haven't run into problems with spider urls with other software before on this host (asmallorange)

URL (copy+paste): http://www.saabswap.com/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=39&cat=10

Chuck, what are any common reasons why my host may have it set like that? I plan on talking to them about this.

Thanks for your help, it is appreciated.

Also, I never ran into an issue before turning on comments.

Google indexed the site properly with the spider urls...

I managed to solve this problem by editing the showproduct.tmpl

Find this line:
<a href="comments.php?product=$product&amp;cedit={$reviewnum[$x]}">

Change it to:
<a href="http://yourwebsiteURL/comments.php?product=$product&amp;cedit={$reviewnum[$x]}">

Chuck,

When I turn on spider friendly urls, I can no longer view the categories.

Would the above resolve my problem?

my site url is: http://www.classifiedadzs.com/showcat.php?cat=2

John

Your server is not compatible with spider urls and as such you may not use them

Chuck,

Having Google indexed pages can make a major difference to a site's traffic.

Aside from changing providers (I'm currently using GoDaddy) Isn't there some way to get around that limitation?
