New Install...two problems...

My PP Classifieds is integrated with my VB3 and everything appeared to go smoothly, until I tried posting an ad. The first problem is that it's not allowing bidding on the ad. I have the category options set to allow bidding, I double checked it, and when I placed the test ad I clicked the button to allow bidding. I also clicked to allow an immediate buy it option and that's not showing either.

I logged in as another user via IE (I normally use firefox) just to make sure that maybe it wasn't showing me those options b/c I was the one who placed the ad. Anyway, it still didn't show those options while logged in as someone else and in IE I found my next problem. It's not keeping users logged in with IE for some reason.

Any help would be appreciated.

Buy option is not for auctions that is reserved for regular ads. Auctions are bought by the high bidder when the auction ends.

As far as an auction if you place an auction and have everything turned on in the category and placed the ad and checked allow bidding you would need to login as another user to see the bid box as you can not bid on your own item. There is a bid box.

You can login here with testing and testing and look at this test I did

I did log in as another user, that's what I mean. And I had another person try it from their username and there is no bid box at all. I deleted the first ad and tried another to max sure that bidding was enabled when I did it and it was. I also didn't check the buy it now option in the second ad and there is still no bid box. Although checking out the link you provided helped as I was able to see what I should be seeing. There is also no option for posting comments on my listing page.

It's also not keeping users logged in in firefox either. Perhaps that's part of the problem. It is keeping me (the admin) logged in, but not regular users, or moderators (it was a moderator that tried to do a test bid and didn't see the box either).

Ok, yep. That's definitely the problem. It's not keeping users logged in, so they aren't getting the ability to bid. So, what did I do wrong to make the users not stay logged in? It is appearing to log them in, but it's just not sticking once the page reloads.

You would need to set your cookies the same in both apps

cookie path /

cookie prefix bb

cookie domain .domain.com

I know, I did that in PP Classifieds and I just double checked to make sure. In my VB3 config file, the cookie prefix is set to bb but there is no settings in it at all for the other two options. Is this my problem and if so, can I add them??

This is the only thing in my vb3 config file about cookies:

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
It says Thank you for logging in USERNAME, click here to proceed (or whatever that message is) making it appear that the user is being logged in, but when you get back to the main screen, you're not logged in.

Ok, sorry. I'm a dolt. I got it. It seems to be working great now.

And in case someone else has this same problem, I changed those settings for the vb cookies in the vb admin panel (under VB options), not the config file.
