| Images Gone After Upgrade
I just upgraded to 2.5 but all of the ad images are missing.
What happened and how do I get them back?

I did some comparisons and found that my pics hag been in the data folder that was replaced when I did the upgrade (upgrade instructions said to copy "all " the files).
Since I had a backup, I've copied my old data folder back.
However, now the images only appear when they are clicked on.
What can I do to recover from this?

Here is the announcement thread. It states there is an upgrade script to run and running that upgrade should solve missing images are there is big changes between 2.42 and 2.5 in regards to file naming architecture. http://www.photopost.com/forum/showthread.php?t=122860 |

I did run the upgrade script, but the first time I ran it, it was with the data file that came with the upgrade.
I ran it again after replacing the data ile (with my backup) and it still doesn't give me my images. Also the catagory links don't work.

Category Links did you turn on spider urls? try turning them off in Admin => Global Options
This is the announcement with instructions and the upgrade doc has specific upgrade instructions in the download. http://www.photopost.com/forum/showthread.php?t=122860
You can only run step 3 once as the instructions stated so I can only assume here you ran that twice and this is exactly what you did.
401401P2100084_Small_.JPG is what I see looking at one of your images. Note the userid is prepended to the image twice.
You need to restore a backup of your photos table via mysql and run STEP 3 of the upgrade once and and that should fix this.

Given the fact you dont have that many ads on your install you could always hand edit the bigimage fields in phpmyadmin and remove the extra prepended userid from those fields if you did not take a backup of the products table before upgrade.

I had done an export of the sql files but rather than screw things up even more I've manually edited the bigimage fields and am ready to run step 3 again.
Just so that I'm clear, I run the upgrade.php script and go through steps 1, 2 and 3?

No you do not run step 3 after doing that. That was an either or situation I posted above.
Please read the email I sent on what to do in your situation. In the future please also keep any communication inside the support area. It is kind of hard to support customers when they are posting support issues and also emailing them to me.

)))))))On Feb 28, 2006, at 10:01 AM, Chuck wrote:
The process is you must have the data files exist on the server and run the upgrade process. If you removed the double userid off then running step 2 should be all you need to do but why dont your thumbs set moved on step2?
Do you have permissions issues?
I would suggest you leave things as they are now and check your permissions on all directories under data at every level make sure they are 777 and then in admin scan database run a rebuild thumbnail command
Make sure to make a backup of the photos table before you do anything))))))
My permissions were what was causing the problem.
After fixing permissions, I did a "admin scan database" and ran a rebuild thumbnail command.
Most of the thumbnails are back.
Only a few are still missing.

Looks like you might want to recheck permissions on the directories but editing each of those couple ads and hitting rebuild thumbs should help. If you have any errors take note and post them so we can assist you.
