bid problem

when a user inserts the first bid to a auction he gets an internal server error, even if the redirect goes to bids.php (right path). When he reloads the page, his bid appears to be registered and ok.

This problem does not appear in the successive bids. Any ideas?

Another question: what are this numers (see image)?

Okay well I see no issue with bids. Just did one with a new clean install

http://www.reeftalk.com/classifieds/...hp?product=111

Check to ensure you have all files uploaded new etc. There have been absolutely no changes to the bid system at all for a very long time. I would need allow more info about your install if you continue to have any issues with bidding like url test login etc

Now the numbers on $auctionend are easy. The hard coded strings in time_left function where moved to the language file in pp-inc.php add this line in bold to load the language strings

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.

Okay you need to view your server's error logs and find out any clues to what is happening if you continually get an issue.

My bid went through with the second click.

Now the html of your bid form is just fine. My suggestion to you is to disable any and all hacks or mods you have to vbulletin. Especially anything that has to do with redirection. Thats why I state to view your server error logs. You need to know where the system is trying to send you if its not to bids.php. Our form is clearly sending you to bids.php and if you are sent to bids.php you will be fine. So we need to try and track down here what is the external factor interfering with the process.

the strange thing is that I get an error only on the first bid.
I don't have any vb3 hacks with redirecting.

Do you have any hacks installed with vb3? Try disabling all hacks and check the process again. I have seen in my days some weird actions when users install hacks with vb3.

The bid stuff has not changed at all for a way long time since it was added early on in version 2.0 in December 2004 and everything appears to work fine from the testing I have done. Thus this would appear to be endemic to your specific setup so we need to track down the differences here. Even weirder is the fact it only happens on the first click of the bid submit form. If you go back and hit submit it processes fine.

Technically speaking if the html form is sending the user to bids.php to process the bid it should be processed. I have tried this on two separate installs and it works as expected.

Your getting an internal server error on the first click of the form which is way too generic an error to suggest any course of action without further information as in server error log entry report. If you get an error there should be an entry in the error log saying exactly what the issue is. We can then go from there.
