Photo Post Pro or Amateur? : A plethora of problems

Photo Post Pro or Amateur? : A plethora of problems

Alright then, this is a professional world and when you charge money from your customers then you need to give them what they want.

I paid a 100$ for the photopost classifieds license and 160$ for vbulletin. frankly, the level of support and professionalism exhibited by the VB support staff is uncountably more than over here. I have been trying to install the classifieds since 3 days now - and some problem or theother seems to be cropping up. now dont tell me that i need to be a pro in php or something to install the classifieds 'pro'. everything should be self - explinatory like in vbulletin.

for starters the response system of the support staff is very slow. i have seen uncountable threads started by customers which have ended aimlessly undecided just because the customer has decided to compromise or has taken an alternate route which has sacrificed some functionality.

see this thread : Watermark Issues

two people facing the same problem and no suitable answer?

thats costing me time for my business.

more problem ( or if these are not problems then sorry they were not documented very well enough, as i seemed to have missed their solution )
  1. I tried to upload a non - image file ( .fla ). it uploaded the file and showed the ad without any errors. It did show a no image thumbnail. This is not what i want when users are trying to upload stuff onto the classifieds.
  2. The classifieds accpeted the ad even when i did not mention any price for the item. it just displayed a n/a
  3. there must be more small irritants like these, i am too exhausted to check them out as of now.

i hope this crtique of mine will be taken in best spirits and not in a personal way.

all the best.

Actually constructive criticism is always welcome

Now let's take that thread you link. You meantion response time is slow. I would tend to state your example shows the exact opposite. The thread was started by a user who solves her own issue weeks ago. We asked for more information from her and she stated she solved her issue. You posted a trailing remark on the thread on the 21st of this month. I responded the same day multiple times to you and another user. With register globals off the file was not getting the contents of $file thus the issue and I posted a correction to use. Giggler even confirmed his watermarking issues were resolved in that thread thanks to that line. He found out you can not use on the fly watermarking with gif images. I posted for you to double check your paths if indeed you made the change noted and did not recieve any other post from you.

Now alot of people got trapped by not knowing what paths etc to use in watermark.php. I would suggest later today I should have a version of Classifieds BETA 3 uploaded that will take out any guess work. It uses the same watermarking protection our Photopost Pro product uses. I highly suggest you try this out.

Now lets try and answer your other issues.

# I tried to upload a non - image file ( .fla ). it uploaded the file and showed the ad without any errors. It did show a no image thumbnail. This is not what i want when users are trying to upload stuff onto the classifieds.

Our Photopost Classifieds software does not process multimedia thumbnails. If the image is larger than your PHP upload limit the file could be dropped by PHP. You must place in Admin => Edit Usergroups the max upload size to match or a little lower than your PHP max upload size so the program can stop and give an error otherwise PHP drops it and since classifieds does not need an image to process an ad it will upload without an image.

# The classifieds accpeted the ad even when i did not mention any price for the item. it just displayed a n/a

I explained this above and this should solve your problem
