| Can't post ads after upgrade HELP!
Ok, I was having a problem where users could not mark their own ads as sold, only the admin could. After Chuck suggested I upgrade I did so, folloing (as best I could) the instructions in the UPGRADE.TXT file. I am now upgraded to version 2.4.2, but now have a BIG problem. When I try to upload a new ad (either as admin or a new user), it goes like this:
At step one, I select a type of ad - works OK
At step 2, I enter a category of ad - works OK
At step 3 I enter all my ad info and click SUBMIT - PROBLEM!
Instead of it telling me that I successfully posted my ad, it does NOT post my ad and it instead takes me back to Step 1 (select type of Ad)
Help!
Basil

Try making sure you have indeed uploaded all the new templates and php files.
Sounds like you have not done so here. I have seen this above issue when the proper template files are not in place for the new php files.

I have seen this above issue when the proper template files are not in place for the new php files. | Ok, I have figured that the problem is, in fact, with templates, but going crazy trying to figure out what to do. The issue seems to be that the old templats don't work. So, I uploaded the new templates, but there were only templats numbered up to 3, for example:
uploadproduct.tmpl
uploadproduct1.tmpl
uploadproduct2.tmpl
uploadproduct3.tmpl
Those first thee work, but I also had a fourth one called:
uploadproduct4.tmpl
I tried using my old uploadproduct4.t,pl. but the problem still occurs. So, I tried renaming one of the "new" templats as "uploadproduct4.tmpl" but still have the problem.
What do I do? It seems to be any ads that use a certain ad type

well quite simply you added a new template system as classifeds only includes the templates meantioned. You need to make sure your old uploadproduct4.tmpl follows the new system as in this line I beleive is the one.
<input type="hidden" name="process" value="do" />

<input type="hidden" name="process" value="do" /> | Thanks! I just added that line in my old uploadproduct4.tmpl file and it seems to be working now. However, I also had to upload my previous "showcat4.tmpl" and editproduct4.tmpl and showproduct4.tmpl in order for everything to work.
Are there any differences I need to worry about in the latest showcat, editcat or showproduct tmpl files? I just uploaded my previous ones and it seems to be workingm, but are there any changes I should make?
Also, my original problem of users not being able to mark their adverts as SOLD is now working after the upgrade! Thanks again!
One last question. When I list ads in a category, the default "Sort" listing is "Most Views". How can I change that so the default is "Most Recent"? It makes more sense for me to have the most recently added adverts on top when members view a category.
Thanks again,
Basil

I cant say what changes there are from the old to the new off top of my head you would need to compare those files.
In showcat.php find this line and change the numeric sort to the one you want
if ( empty($sort) ) $sortparam = 2;
