File install question: classifieds & photopost

I have both the classifieds 2.5 and photopost 2.42. I was reading the install documentation. Both directory structures are pretty similar and there is a folder called forums.

Do I put these all these files in the root of my website? If so, files like comments.php are in both programs with different files sizes. What do I do with these conflicts?

If I do put them in the root, my VB 3.5.2 folder is just called forum, is your forums folder specific to VB, etc?

You do not install in your webroot if you have something else installed there.

Photopost is file version 5.21 not 2.42 so I assume you have downloaded the beta classifieds and stable classifieds not Photopost

You would install whichever classifieds you want to run in a directory say called classifieds usually.

People only install on the webroot if its the only thing they are installing on the site.
