User Authentication Problem

Hey Everyone,
I am using Vbulletin 3.5.1 and Plesk 7.5 for Windows (Windows 2003 st. ed). The installation of Photo Post Classifieds seems to gone well. However, when I try to login into admin panel with Vbulletin admin ID and Password, it's saying "Invalid login. Please check your user name and password, or register". On logging to user panel, the status on Navbar shows still unlogged in. However it is displaying total number of registered users. Any help?

Hello

Can be many things here. Did you install with vb3 integration?

In the config-inc.php file line $vblicense has to be set to the proper vbulletin license number for logins to work not customer number.

Did you enter the cookie prefix in when installing which is by default bb?

Any of these can mess with the authentication of vb3.

I left it blank on the previous installation

Anyway, the installation of Photo Post Classifieds seems to be very easy even on a Windows machine. Thought the other way initially.

It's working fine now.

Yep the cookie prefix vblicense number and password are all written into a md5 password hash which is used for authentication so if you dont have the info right then your not going to authenticate

The problem seems to be half solved.

The log in for all the user groups is working only when the users log in using the adm-index.php.

If the users log in onto VB and then goes to the classifieds, the status shows un-logged. Also, being logged out when gone back to VB.

If the users log in using the classifieds 'index.php', the status also is un-logged.

The cookie path in my VB 'config.php' is 'bb' and I gave the same value.

Okay well then you need to check the settings mysql table for the installations.

In photopost settings 171-173 and classifieds 181-183

Your forum should be set as this

cookie path /
cookie prefix bb ( is in the config file of vb )
cookie domain .domain.com (note the . in front so it works with domain.com and www.domain.com )

Photopost and classifieds set as this'

cookie path /
cookie prefix bb
cookie doman .domain.com

Check the $vblicense variable in both config files of our products and make sure it is license number not customer number. Your vb license number is found at the top of most files but use config.php as a reference

If you have things set as this there should be no issues with logins and cookies

Password Reset PhotoPost GMS 3.0.2

Chuck, We moved PhotoPost GMS 3.0.2 to a new server and when we try to login in the Admin we get "Invalid login. Please check your username and password, or". I am guessing we need to reset the password?? Can you please give me a clue as to how to be able to login?

UPDATE : We are now getting "The page cannot be found" after I tried to login as admin. Any CLue?

Please dont tell me we have to upgrade, I dont think that should be necessary.

Evan

There has been no support for GMS for along time it is a discontinued product and has been for over 3 years. As far things to check ensure if you moved that your config file has the correct path info in it. You will need to use phpmyadmin and verify the server paths and url statements if any of this changed you need to change the entries.
