How is zip code supposed to work?

Can someone point me to a post here that describes how the zip code feature is supposed to work? Although I do have the zipcode database installed and the zip code option turned on my admi section, on my site it appears to do nothing at all. I suspect it may be broken for some resaon.

Or, better yet, point me to somplace where it DOES work with a few simple instructions on how to use it.

Thanks

You say it is turned on.

If the zipcodes are installed then it should do something.

Is there anything in your zipcode database

Yes. A mysql query shows that there are 141000 rows in the zip code database. Yet, When I go to a category display that has the little "enter your zipcode" window with the "[Go]" button and I enter my zip code there and click the "[Go]" button. It does nothing at all. That's why I asked what it's supposed to do and/or for a link to a site that actually has it working so that I can SEE what it's supposed to do.

Everything else in my classifieds now seems to be working properly except this single feature.

Thanks.

HMM I think that might be your issue. Its not suppose to have 141000 entries only like 71600 and it is pulling multiple rows which makes the cookie not be set.

You can try emptying the zipcode database reupload the zipcode sql files and upgrade and reimport them
