Installation fails between step 2 and step 3 when running installation script

Installation fails between 'step 2' and 'step 3' when running installation script. Web browser times out with 'page cannot be displayed'. When checking to see if anything has installed, the site will load text only, no graphics, and all links go to 'http://www.domain.com/' with the PhotoPost Classifieds directory following the domain. However, with a failed install, I'm sure this is expected.

All directions were followed 'exactly' as indicated in the installation manual. No other integration (vBulletin, etc.) is involved. This is a new, clean install on a new server. All requirements exceed the minimum, recommended versions.

While troubleshooting, I've determined that the database is connecting throughout the entire process. If the installation fails during the first attempt, no other attempts will work. If this is attempted, errors are generated due to attempts to overwrite a database that already exists.

I found a thread from around February of this year that had the exact same problem. This was due to the zip code files needing to be split, which has been done with the release that I have (version was downloaded today).

Any help would be appreciated.

Well your server does not like them even when they are split which is odd to say the least.

You can delete the zipcode stuff from install and install normally then you can run upgrade to import the zips.
