| Fresh Install into VB3.7 cookie issue?
Hi all.
This seems to be a similar issue to that already experienced but I'm battling
I have done several fresh uploads. I have the classifieds in their own dbase, and the second set of settings set to my VB3 dbase to access user profiles. This "seems" to be ok.
I set the cookies to bb (same as my VB install from memory).
I have both forum and classifieds installed into the root directory of my site.
I drop all the tables in the classifieds dbase and then run the install. When it configures the dbase I get a LOT of "table already exists" errors.
The install continues to run fine from then on untill I get to the login screen. At this stage I cant login. When I enter my forum login I get a blank page. If I choose another option it sends me into my forum software and I get a "user doesnt exist" type error which prompts me to join the forum.
I believe I have a cookie issue, but I'm a little confused that it puts up a blank screen instead of just bouncing me straight to the new member prompt.
Any thoughts? I think this is simple, and probably another cookie issue, but after spending several hours in this forum (and re-installing about 8 times) I'm stumped |

OK....possibly I'm getting fixated on cookies
When I try to log in for the first time I press submit end go to a blank screen. Possibly its trying to enter the classifieds but the software isnt working? I've checked the dbase settings and I "think" they are fine. Also I cant find an issue with the cookie settings in my VB Cpanel, in PHP Myadmin, or in the config file.
SO now I'm really confused, which generally means its a really simple problem that I'm trying to make hard |

well If your classifieds does not display I would more think of a wrong path you entered trying to set up the vb3 enhanced integration. Check your path settings in the config-int.php file and then also remember after you get classifieds showing then you can track down your cookie issue. Your vb license number must be entered in the config-inc.php file correctly also for logins to work since its written into the password variable.

In the window its going to the correct location on the server, however the screen is still blank. If I try to manually open the index.php file in a browser same thing?
License number is correct and the paths seem ok? but I cant access the software online?
I played around with the path and I believe its correct. When I enter the password it enters a blank screen. If I alter the curernt setting in any way it goes to a "not found" screen.

Turn off vb3 settings to off from on in the config-int.php and see if it loads. I would say its a path error.

Directly after the password screen its redirecting me to the above link.
If I alter the text in the login to the index screen its also blank? Unfortunately I have to get on an airplane in a couple of hours, otherwise I'd be tempted to pull the lot and do a fresh install!

I killed the dbase and recreated. Reinstalled with the VB3 features set to off. I still get the list of errors (table already exists) during install of the dbase, and the same end result.....a blank screen?

OK.
If I go to http://www.hemi6pack.com/classifieds/ the page is working. If I try to login it redirects me to a VB page that tells me I already have a login and then redirects me off into the forum. So there is interaction but its not recognising the cookie....and the wheel goes around
If I return to http://www.hemi6pack.com/classifieds/adm-index.php and try to log into the admin panel it redirects me to a blank screen at http://www.hemi6pack.com/classifieds/misc.php
If I go back to the login screen and hit any button other than the login (that doesnt work) it sends me into the forum, tells me I have a login etc and bounces me off into my user CP or the board.
I believe the login is working as its not erroring, but possibly the misc.php page isnt working? I've reloaded it but no luck.

I show the page loads fine http://www.hemi6pack.com/classifieds/
You need to see what your cookies are set to in the database settings table and correct as needed. The cookie prefix should be bb

OK....back home and on the job.
I have deleted the lot, emptied the database and started from scratch. Too many tweaks to the script and I've lost focus. The root cause is that when running step 3 I get a LONG list of database errors (looks to be every table added to the database). Following the errors list I get the install text and button to proceed to step 4, so I had previously continued the install. Quote:
step 3: MySQL error reported: [CREATE TABLE pp_admlog (id int(10) NOT NULL auto_increment,adminuser varchar(50) NOT NULL default '',description varchar(255) NOT NULL default '',datestamp int(20) NOT NULL default '0',ip varchar(35) NOT NULL default '',PRIMARY KEY (id)) TYPE=MyISAM]
Result: Table 'pp_admlog' already exists
Database: ppclassifieds
| Followed by a list of: Quote:
Error: Table 'pp_admlog' already exists
Error: Table 'pp_favorites' already exists
Error: Table 'pp_laston' already exists
Error: Table 'pp_categories' already exists
Error: Duplicate entry '1' for key 1
Error: Duplicate entry '2' for key 1
| Previously I got a blank screen at step3 so I added this code relating to the zip file. This allowed me to proceed , but with the above errors! Quote:
Open up the install.php file and delete the lines to import the zipData.sql
// Upload the zipcode data (if present)
$query = @file("zipData.sql");
for ( $x=0; $x < count($query); $x++) {
$iquery = $query[$x];
$iquery = str_replace( ";", "", $iquery );
$setup = mysql_query($iquery, $link);
if ( !$setup ) print "<b>Error: ".mysql_error()."</b><br />";
}
You can then run the upgrade.php and import zipcodes that way
| This got me through step3, but with errors. If I remove the code I get a blank screen, but when I go into PHP myadmin the tables have been added to the dbase.
I have the settings set up to run the classifieds in one database, and the second set of fields set to my VB3 forum database. I had thought this would add classifieds info to its own bdase whilst referencing the VB3 dbase for user info etc.
So I'm open to suggestions. The issue starts with the addition of the database tables. I added the zip file mod to overcome it. Curiously I cant add the zip file with the upgrade script as it also errors out (possibly because I've already ftp'd the file? DO I even need the zip file code? or is there something else I should add here to get me through step three? Not sure but there is certainly an issue when adding the tables.
Cheers,

Everytime I get past step two it updates my config.php file however it replaces the path as follows This is similar to this thread install page blank
I'm stopping at this step and manually editing the config to ensure the path remains but I think you may have a problem with this script? Either way its becoming a VERY frustrating process |

OK.....now that I've manually added the config-inc file I've successfully logged in. There are some further integration issue's but I'm on the way. Hopefully somebody may find this usefull in the future (and hopefully things will work from here).
Guys....you need to look at your script. It doesnt work! When running the installer its deleting the path and thats not something I can screw up at this end!

Ok Gentlemen.
I have classifieds up and running at HERE
Here are the current issues, although with current trends I'm expecting more
I now have the "red X" issue with my headers and footers. From your FAQ's it seems I'm expected to edit all my templates to suit your software?
I attempt to log in. The software recognises me, which tells me cookies are fine. I'm redirected back to the classifieds index and cant get into the admin panel.
Whilst I'm having a swell time talking to myself and crunching the issue's with your software why am I having the same issue's that have been reported repeatedly? If this was shareware I'd expect to be running around in PHP Myadmin, and editing templates to suit but its certainly wearing thin This is a saleable product but it doesnt work without a substantial amount of time and input from the customer. The end result looks fine but I question the path to get there!
Looking forward to some support............................

OK...whilst I'm talking to myself..........
On the front page any button / link to do with my forum wouldnt work however I've now resolved the issue.
I've spent most of the evening updating templates so the styles work other than two images that I cant find. I'll take another look tomorrow.
I still cant get access to the admin panel although the software recognises me, my forum profile, etc...so I'm not convinced this is a cookie issue! Possibly something wrong with the redirect?
And finally...I posted a trial add when checking out the functions and whilst the process seemed to work the add didnt go online?
I wont get cross untill tomorrow, but these are the same issues as discussed in MANY previous threads and the lack of answers in most of them is acutely obvious when your trying to resolve issues with the upload

OK.....accessing the admin panel.
The screen prompts me for a password...should I already be logged in from the forum? If so then it may still be a cookie problem (although I'm recognised in the classifieds and forum so I suspect not). I've downloaded CookieMonster and taken a look at the cookies. They are lodged for the forum however I cant see any for PhotoClassifieds. At this time I'm interpreting that its reading the Forum cookies and not lodging its own.
>>>edit - I can add ANY username and password I want, including ones which arent correct, and I get a thankyou and redirect to the classifieds!<<<
Where is the redirect setup? I log in, the pasword is accepted, and I'm redirected back into the classifieds, so its looping. This seems different to the loops experienced in other threads as I;m not going back to the login, but being redirected into the classifieds as a user.

More info. I cleared the cookies using a manager and log into the classifieds. It access's the cookies stored for my forum and log me in fine. I click on the admin button and it takes me to a further login screen. This process's but returns me to the classifieds instead of the admin panel.
I "think" I also have a further issue uploading images but I'm working one at a time. Some support would be nice!

OK.
Image uploading doesnt work. I try and get the error below: Quote:
Warning: move_uploaded_file(/home/webadmin/hemi6pack.com/html/classifieds/data2/1Walter2.jpg): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in homewebadminhemi6pack.comhtmlclassifiedsimage-inc.php on line 53
Warning: move_uploaded_file(): Unable to move '/tmp/phpu5DXnT' to '/home/webadmin/hemi6pack.com/html/classifieds/data2/1Walter2.jpg' in homewebadminhemi6pack.comhtmlclassifiedsimage-inc.php on line 53
| Error creating resized original! Error code: 127
Seems to be an error resizing the image as the image is on the server. Issue Resolved. When the config file didnt update at the start of this process the image settings werent added. I've ammended the table to suit GD2 and the upload function now works fine!
I'm owed the entire weekend+ and after the intense effort put in by support (in this and previous threads that I've scoured in hope of fixing product issue's) am seriously wondering why I paid for this product?

So over the course of the weekend I've battled my way through and resolved the majority of issue's. I'm still of the opinion that the installer should set this up and would over come these issue's! Why we have to run around in PHP-Myadmin and edit settings blindly (with no real manual available) is beyond me!
The one remaining issue I have is getting access to the Admin panel. I can post adds, redirect where-ever I want. VB3 Integration is good.....but NO Admin panel. Cookies settings are right, I've run the Query in PHP MYadmin as recommended in a previous thread, downloaded a cookie manager and delete all cookies after checking their paths. I can do everything EXCEPT get into the admin panel!
I'm not gunna mention the S word, but I will be seriously considering my options in other area's! This is not an off the shelf download as advertised!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More info.
OK...At the login to the admin panel if I try to register it tells me my login name and says I have an account. If I try to get my password emailed it says I dont have an account?
Strange and possibly cookie related but I dont get it? but this is the last issue I have (I think) before setting up the for sale categories and going live for testing.
