new 2.2 install : login/logout errors : thumbnail.tmpl?

Hi!

I get the following errors if I'm logged in as admin and try to log out - afterwards I'm still logged in. If I comment out the entire contents of thumbnail.tmpl, everything works fine. There are also some other points in the login/logout process where this seems to make a difference, but I'm tired and goin home now.

An associate says that it looks like some html is getting written out before the headers, but we couldn't figure out where.

Check that file for trailing or empty space after the closing ?> tag

After removing the blank line from thumbnail.tmpl (which seems to have no effect, btw), and hitting logout several times, watching closely, I've determined that the setcookie calls in sellerspost.php is where the errors are happening. Or at least, that's what's being reported. I also notice that in these four lines, the last parameter $Globals['cookie_path'] isn't surrounded by "{ }" as it is in the calls on lines 145 and 147. Is this right?

(We're trying to get this set up to demo to the client today.)

I've removed even more whitespace from templet.tmpl - moving the closing ?> to the end of the PPPRINT; line. Now I'm getting a new error:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home/httpd/vhosts/supporthitcatcher.com/httpdocs/clients/stonebridgepress/pp-classifieds/templates/thumbnail.tmpl on line 14

There is no $ on line 14:

PPPRINT;?>

???

Ahh - not allowed. So I'm back to the original errors... any ideas? Did my question regarding the "{ }" in sellerspost.php make sense? Does that make any difference?

I've commented out the thumbnail.tmpl code again until we can figure out what's going on there.

Now I've found another issue: If I place and ad as a user, approve it (as admin), then log back in as the user and try to either edit or expire the ad, I'm told that I'm not the person who placed the ad and am not allowed to do anything with it. In addition, in the case of 'expire ad', after the message, I get a completely blank page.
