Cant login to admin after upgrade to 4.8.6

I just did an upgrade from 4.7 to 4.86 ..wanted to wait on the v5...

anyway, now i cant login to my admin pp. it takes gives me the login link on the gallery index showing im logged in...but when i click the admin link, it gives me the login page..then i login and it says login successful but then takes me back to the index page...using vb3.07 and vb user db.

i am thinking it might be a cookie issue? but i dont see an option to set cookies on the config inc file for 4.8.6 as was on 4.7

any idea on what might be going on?

HI..

I bet its the cookie prefix, for vbulletin it is : bb
enter that, clear cookies & cache and try to login again.

Hi Toney, thanks for your reply! actually, i messed up and overwrote the config inc file. so when i did that, the db didnt update tables for cookies. I restored the db and upgraded again. It seems to be working ok now...but only after I uploaded the config inc file that came with 4.8.6 (manually updated for correct info).

To recap, I did the upgrade with the ORIGINAL config_inc.php file (v 4.7). Then after I upgraded, I manually edited the NEW config_inc.php file (v 4.8.6) and uploaded that version overwriting the original config_inc.php file. Only after this, would it work. I thought the upgrade would update the config file as well but it didnt (made sure permission was 777).

But now I am running into anther problem when i try to upload as admin. I can seem upload as member but not admin. Can login to admin and do everything. But when I try to upload a pic under admin account i get the following error:

Warning: move_uploaded_file(/home/account/public_html/gallery/uploads/1/1.jpg): failed to open stream: Permission denied in homeaccountpublic_htmlgalleryimage-inc.php on line 34

Warning: move_uploaded_file(): Unable to move '/tmp/php1yhvPf' to '/home/account/public_html/gallery/uploads/1/1.jpg' in homemaccountpublic_htmlgalleryimage-inc.php on line 34

I think i got the same error under v4.7 as i couldnt upload as admin under that version as well. I am thinking it's some kind of permission issue with a directory? Just not sure which one.

UPDATE: figured out the last problem noted. i had to set permission for uploads/1/ directory to 777. everything seems ok now.
