i see the Zip code stuff... i didn't test it, but would it be possible to use external locations... like Canada ?!
because most of my clients are located in canada, and we'd be very happy to use this system here too...

Yes they do, but its alpha-numberic codes.
Only if you could find a Canadian zip code database that uses long/lat translations.

on maps.yahoo.com it is possible to use both zip-code styles, so i suppose it's possible...
canadian zip-codes are built like: x1x-1x1 ...
hum.. in the users sets, the zipcode field is INT(5) and in the zipData one (without prefix ?! = CREATE TABLE zipData) it's a varchar(5) ... the best would be to set all these zip related to varchar(10) so other countries would be able to use the system once they have what it takes!
would it be good ?! (i'd be happy - reffering more clients!)
EDIT: again.. bug: when we enter to have the "Distance from you" thing, would be efficient to be able to enter a new zipcode when the calculation is made, because we can change our mind... or move, or verify blah blah...

I made a slight update to the build to include the new styles which are being added to PhotoPost 5 (since the BETA will be out this week); and also moved the "yellow" styletag to the pp-inc.php printheader() function so nobody has to change their custom stylesheets.

ok, here is an addition to make to your header-inc.php if you want to REALLY integrate to vB... because actually, there is no change in the navbar... (or my version is crap!)
FIND: Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
JUST BEFORE, ADD: <<< have to be recoded by Michael! Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
and now, see your navbar! -- i didn't made the change to add the details we see in the <title> tag, because i don't see where they are generated before the header-inc.php file... so it's an option for later... if..

So the zip code feature now works out of the box? I don't even have to buy the database?

I just download the classifieds and install it clean (not upgrade). However, it shows
500 internal error
after the first step and database tables been created.
Where do I go from here? Any ideas?

Classifieds 2.1 is the latest and I dont know what bug fixes your talking about as there are no bug fixes posted here.
Bat
Try checking to ensure the config files are present as well as pp-inc.php as well as the rest of the scripts directories have the proper permissions.

When I install, I go to www.palmds.com/classifieds/install.php
I enter the first screen's info, and then it says :
Step 1 Complete: PhotoPost Classifieds Configuration Verification
You have updated your config-inc.php file.
then I click on "Continue To Step 2 -->"
then it says
You have selected to use GD2 for your image needs.
Verification Completed!
The next step will configure your database.
then I click on "Click here to continue to Step 3 -->"
Then it shows
error 500: Internal Server Error
The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
The URL is at http://www.palmds.com/classifieds/in...step=2&usegd=1
==
I upload the zip file and then use unzip command to unzip it. I use the same method to install photopost 5 and it works fine.
Any ideas??

FYI, I believe the installation script stopped at
// Upload the zipcode data (if present)
$query = @file("zipData.sql");
Because it created all tables but zipData table has no record in it.
You might want to look into this.

Well, there seem to be many posts about problems, but this one in particular where Michael says he's updated it, but the official release is the 17th, his posts are on the 18th + PhotoPost Classifieds 2.1 vB3 Enhanced upgrade |

Thanks for the link, djroketboy. I manually update the zipData table (7MB of data!!) and then manually edit all settings to make it work. After that, I had problem that I am able to login at frontend but not able to login to admin section. Your link helps me to modify the three entries in the settings table. There are missing domain_path etc and also I have to make their SECTION=13.
Now it is all working. :-)
You are correct. I just download the classified yesterday and it still have all these problems. I guess the update version is not available yet.

This is right in the upgrade file so I dont know why you state they are missing unless you did not run the upgrade script from 2.0 to make the database 2.1
$query[] = "REPLACE INTO {$pp_db_prefix}settings VALUES (181,'PhotoPost Cookie Path', 'cookie_path', 'This should be set to match the path/domain for your cookies. Setting to / enables entire site.', '$cookie_path', 1, 12)";
$query[] = "REPLACE INTO {$pp_db_prefix}settings VALUES (182,'Forum Cookie Prefix', 'cookieprefix', 'Some Default values vB3: bb, phpBB2: phpbb2mysql, Threads: w3t_', '$cookieprefix', 2, 12)";
$query[] = "REPLACE INTO {$pp_db_prefix}settings VALUES (183,'PhotoPost Cookie Domain', 'domain_path', '.yourdomain.com; sets the cookie to be usable across the domain', '$cookie_domain', 3, 12)";

I install fresh, not upgrade.
The SECTION is set to "12", and their VALUE is empty. I manually add the vaule and change section to 13.
You can install and you will see what I mean.

Thats not what I am talking about. I know there needs to be some cleanup as to where some things are displayed on the install script as its missing the reorganization that the upgrade script has although running the upgrade will reorg things for you.
Your all posts above hint to the fact that the cookie inserts did not exist and thats all I was saying is both in the upgrade and the install file they do indeed exist.
