Baffled -- Unregistered Members Posting New Ads

I have Beta 5 -- which I'll upgrade to 2.0 right now --- but....

I have an Unregistered user continuing to post an ad in the classifieds. In the Users configuration -- I have NOs across the board for Unregistered and in the category they're posting a new ad to -- Unregistered is unchecked in everything but the VIEW section.

What am I doing wrong -- or was this an item fixed between Beta 5 and version 2.0?

I just updated the forums/vb3.php file in the current build; if you download the update and upload just the one file then you will have the new code which recgonizes vB3 users who do not login with cookies (sessions).

I'm uploaded the version at 12:15 (noon) central time today and only loaded:

adm_menu.php
pp_inc.php
/templates/editproduct.tmp
/templates/editproduct1.tmp
/templates/editproduct2.tmp
/templates/editproduct3.tmp
/templates/categories.tmp

to the server. Would that build have the new code -- and was it in those files (from a list in your post in the Beta forum)?

No, you'll need the current build and just the forums/vb3.php file.

I grabbed the newest build and only uploaded the vb3.php file (other than the files in the first post I spoke of) and I've had a lot of people complaining that while their logged into the Forums -- when they switch over to the classifieds they're not logged in. Moreover, when they click login they get get into some loop where it wants to register them but tells them they're registered.

There's a thread on my forum http://www.moparstyle.net/forums/sho...083#post510083 where I'm trying to get a clear explaination of the problem. Problem is that I have a couple of dumbasses on computers to filter too also.

Another symption is a long time member on the wanted a different handle for selling his stuff. His original gets him on the board and classified -- but his new handle gets him on the board and not the forum. He's not a computer dumbass and has set his browser security to default and cleared his cookies until he's blue in the face.

Finally, I've have a couple dozen new members since I uploaded the newest version -- but very few new ads. These people obviously wouldn't tell me if there's a problem -- they'd just consider our site as out of order and move on.

Please advise.

I'm having big problems with many members being logged in with the forums and photo albums -- but can't login to the classifieds. Unregistered members are also able to place ads -- despite having that set to no. I'm using the most recent version -- as of Thursday. I detailed the problems better in that thread.
