Upgrade Problem 1.0 to 1.8c and Can't place WANTED ads. I tried Upgrading from 1.0 to 1.8c mainly because people reported not being able to place any Wanted or Help Wanted ads. We could only get For Sale to work. (I have Personals disabled.) Upgrade process: 1. uploaded all the new files except config-inc and install 2. ran upgrade.php 3. upgrade10.php ran successfully 4. upgrade11.php gave the following error. I have included the line before and the line after: Quote:
PROBLEMS NOW: 1. My Wanted and Help Wanted options seem to be messed up somehow. I can't place any Wanted ads. This was a problem back in 1.0, too. Now, when I select the ad type as Wanted or Help Wanted, the Category pulldown box comes up but it has six or seven blank lines in it with no visible categories. Before in 1.0 it simply said - there are no categories you can post to, or something similar. For Sale seems to work fine. Regards, Matt |
Well seems simple to me. You need to look at what cats are assigned to post wanted ads to. Sounds to me especially since the select cat box comes up empty that there are no cats assigned. If you have say 7 cats and you have two templates enabled for sale and wanted. If all 7 cats are assigned to for sale. I can forsee the issue you have above. You need to assign cats to the wanted template I see no issues at all with posting wanted ads in Classifieds 1.0 and 1.8 |
Thanks for the response Chuck, I am glad you think the problem is simple. I can't seem to figure it out, though. I have had three of my categories configured since the beginning using the pulldown box that is labeled "Template Type:" in the "PhotoPost Classifieds Category Editor." Those three set to Wanted. Contains ads is set to YES. Access permissions are all checked. I reset them and saved just for fun. Still no different - I have three active Wanted categories but I have no capability to use them. Whenever I select Wanted, I get only the blank pulldown described above. Is there somewhere else I should be enabling or assigning templates? |
You can PM me your url and a login. I am able to post fine on my test install trying to replicate what you are doing |
