What does the VB4 Plug in do?

I looked around the VB Admin and can't see where any links were added when I added the plugin. I AssUMed that it was going to do something like make it easier to add a block in the sidebar or something -- but I was wrong. So now I'm wondering what it does do.

Also in the upgrade instructions -- you might want to add to not replace the Pals if you have modified them. I guess I should have snapped to that -- but I didn't. I'm sure there may be others that might benefit with that being added to the instructions.

If you have the plugin installed correctly you should have all the proper navigation links in the vb navigation bar as well as a random ad block on the forumhome and classifieds info in the users profile page.

OK -- I didn't scroll down far enough in the forums BUT....

I see some random ads in the forums -- but not the thumb nails.

Also, my showcases in the Classified ads are now showing ads listed without Images.

What am I doing wrong?

1. Make sure in admin under edit integration you put a trailing slash on the data url

2. if you want your random ad blocks to not show ads without images then you need to in admin options set that ads that do not contain images do not appear in your feature blocks.

I've had it set to no for years and didn't change it -- but now ads without photos appeared after the upgrade

your telling me ads without photos are appearing in your classifieds block in your classifieds page? I do not see any

I really can not comment without seeing the issue here.

The coding is very specific here in the code

Basically that line in the display_gallery function in pp-inc.php says if bigimage field is empty and the setting featureads is no or false then continue with continue in PHP means next record.

We have done things this way for quite some time. Are you sure your using all the new files and templates?

I have clicked around a few categories on your site and not seeing an issue. Is there a specific issue one place?

Yup -- ever file except the config files were new.

It is the Most Popular showcase, which is the one directly under the Categories. A couple of the items in that showcase have the No Thumbnail image.

But when I click the category the item has photos. It isn't a big deal as it appears to be isolated. I did try to rebuild thumbnails and that didn't help.

Then your issue is that the thumbnail exists and it is corrupt. That would explain why it would try showing an image.
