Uploading Photo Error on Iphone

I am viewing the full site version on my iphone 4s. I went to post an ad with 5 pictures. The ad posted, but instead of showing the 5 different pictures I posted it showed the same picture 5 times. Any Ideas?

You can not replicate the error using a normal computer or another phone not the iphone?

I would suspect an issue with your iphone because iphone does not have upload capability and it was only added to my knowledge with iphone 5 so I assume your using some app that lets you upload on iphone?

No I am not using an app. I am just going to my site in Safari. I am viewing the full site version. I click on Place an ad, select catagory, and then type up my ad. I selected 5 different pictures. When I hit submit, it uploaded 1 picture but showed it 5 different times.

I have used my iphone to upload photos to different sites as well.

well if you post a url and a test login I can try on my phone but I would suspect I will upload fine.

Uploading on an iphone like I said was locked down till the latest release of the iphone operating system except if you used some third party software. I would suspect this is an issue related to your iphone.

It has been a couple days and I have not heard anything from you. If you want me to try on my phone your site and see what I get let me know the details.

I do not specifically see any issues uploading when I try my site but I do not have an Iphone or Ipad here.

whatever issue you have has nothing to do with your Iphone but your specific site whether its a vb plugin or modifications you have done or some java etc you have installed.

Here are two links one a vb4 install like yours and one a vb5 install which I have setup to use the mobile integration both processed multiple images fine.

test - Reeftalk Classifieds

test - Omegatron.net Classifieds

Maybe try turning off your plugin system. Maybe try removing any java or extra non normal vb code you have installed in headers or footers.

Something definately is not normal.

One thing I noticed is on my site I have Facebook Connect enabled and I did not see it enabled on the example sites you gave. Could that cause it?

Did you try disabling it and see if it resolves your issue? I doubt that is the only difference but a good place to start. My vb4 is a pretty stock install.

Basically it is going to be trial and error resolving that issue.

Did you disable the vb plugin system as well?

Basically sad to say but its going to be trial and error.

You can also setup a test clean vb site integrated with classifieds and see if you can replicate the issue. This has to be related to something installed in your site.

If the issue is related to only active when mobile is enabled then especially anything you have installed in vb that is mobile related turn that off which is why I have stated to try with the vb plugin system off.

One more thing I noted which I did not see any response to either is make sure you try enabling the mobile viewing in classifieds admin so your not loading vb headers and footers but doing the mobile how we design it does your application work correctly?

When you turn off the facebook connect I am able to upload multiple photos. The only problem is it rotates the photos on their side. I prefer to keep mobile view turned off and when it was turned on, I could not see the posted ads.

well the problem I believe with how vb does there vb facebook thing is they write or affect what image root paths are etc so my theory here is the images are not making there way to where they need to be. The only thing I can suggest is to have facebook off. I will investigate what the vb option name is and maybe I can add that to our global navbar plugin to turn off that feature if the page is classifieds.

I uploaded an ad via my mobile with facebook off and the photos where not rotating they uploaded just how they are suppose to be. I did this earlier today forgot to tell you that turning off facebook corrects your issue.

I will do some reading on facebook dev site and see what else they are adding. I would assume here that if you can not replicate the issue on a real computer but only mobile there is something that the facebook integration puts in the vb header on a mobile that is the culprit.

However I just checked your site figuring brand new day lets try it out and low and behold no issue at all so did you find out that it was a hack instead you had installed? That was uploaded via my mobile phone a few minutes ago.

testing - Semo Classifieds

I do not think so as the change would have to be in your vb.

Maybe a hack or mod to vb you removed or a change in something maybe. Maybe some javascript or something like that you removed. Maybe some weird server issue. All I am saying is I came back here to follow up with you and decided to check your site on my phone and it worked fine.

Not sure how I would be able to verify what your iphone does nor do I think we could counter what it does in general. We simply process the image that is uploaded.

https://www.semoyardsales.net/classi...g-table&cat=14

Your images are not showing if I view that link.

The large image or original exists here

https://www.semoyardsales.net/classi...220_172345.jpg

You will see though the main image or thumb do not

https://www.semoyardsales.net/classi...220_172345.jpg

https://www.semoyardsales.net/classi...220_172345.jpg

From what I see your large image saved which is the image that is uploaded is completely upsize down. Our program is not doing that I can tell you that.

You can only in our program change orientation by editing a photo and hitting the links to rotate it.

I would suspect whatever upload thing on your iphone is rotating your images. That is where you want to check.
