| Forum Profile
In the older version of Classifieds I was using (4.21) the Profile page had a Forum Profile section with a link to view the sellers forum profile.
I can't seem to find this on 5.23. Am I just missing it?

That is because in newer classifieds versions your actually taken to the forum profile where you have a classifieds tab that shows you classifieds info. I assume we are talking vb4 here. I know I have asked for your site link in other posts. Hard for me to properly answer you when I do not know specifically the circumstances.
I read your other post and it sayd vb3 so thats a different animal
In your forums subdirectory of the gallery the vb3.php file line 472 this line Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
change it to this Code: Content visible to verified customers only.

I'm using VB 3.8.7.
And by "gallery" do you mean "classifieds"?
And, here's that link again: http://www.tdpri.com/phpclassifieds
Thanks

Yes your using all the products with vb3 so this change would go for every last one of the products.

I found it on line 459 -- but I'm unsure if your change above applies to vb3 or vb4?
Could you please clearify?

You have a hack installed that shows a photo block in vb3 and because you have that installed it is making your profile links go to your forum profile so the change I told you simply removes that so your profile links will go to classifieds in vb3.

I do have the hack installed. But the username links to profiles in Classified do not go to the forum profile. Not at all.
The old Classifieds Profile had a "Forum Profile" link in it. That's missing from this newer version.
If I've misunderstood what you said, please explain, in more detail.
How can clicking on a username in Classifieds either take me to that users Forum Profile, or to a Classifieds Profile with a link to the users Forum Profile?

You will have to change the "Click to view user\'s forum profile" phrase to "Forum Profile"
You can then add this code in bold in your profile template where noted in bold Code: Content visible to verified customers only.

OK I made the change above and see that the link to the forum profile has been added to the Left Col Nav panel.
Thanks Chuck, I appreciate this.
So, if I didn't have random classifieds showing on my forum that this would work differently?

All these questions I'm asking today, are the result of me upgrading this morning from 4.21 to 5.23.
Thanks

At present we don't have any plans of upgrading this forum beyond 3.8.7. I'll not say never. But Internet Brands has messed up so badly since the introduction of 4 that we're only using 4.X on our smaller forums.

4.x is a far superior product than vb 3.x. They messed up in the beginning releasing 4.x before it was ready however they fixed any bugs and that product is way superior to the product your using.
I think personally they messed up with vb5 that product is terrible. It looks nasty. I have had the distinct displeasure of writing an integration for that product so am using it on a test site. I doubt they are going to get alot of sales on that product and lots of dissatisfied customers on the direction they are going.
I am the opposite side of the coin. I use vb4 and love it and will absolutely not upgrade to vb5.

I know 4.x is working better. I operate 9 forums and 5 of them are on 3.8 and 4 of them are on 4.1.12.
The forum with Classifieds is a very large forum that's been in operation for 14 years. The folks there are not at all happy with changes. 3.8.7 works just fine and we see no real benefit in upgrading to 4.2.
5.0 is another horrible mess, even worse than 4.0 was in the beginning.
I can see moving some of my forums to 4.2, but don't see the benefit at this point. I realize I can not stay with a EOL product for 3 more years. I just don't see any thing better "right now."

Yeah thats really the point I was making 3.x has been end of life for a long time. vb3 was effectively dead years before vb4 even went gold because the only thing that came out of small bug fix releases for years. No real new features.
No matter what people say about vb4 being end of life now that vb5 is in beta I think that is not going to be the case.
If vbulletin thinks they are going to develop a product and release to a .2 release and make customers pay 250.00 a pop every 3 years they are effectively out of business the writing is on the wall.
I think they are going to find vb5 is going to prove a huge nightmare with no sales and they are going to have no recourse but to stay with vb4 because I know I am not going to be paying Internet Brands that kind of dough every 3 years.

This addition will be added to the upcoming Classifieds 5.3 which I will release in the coming weeks after the just released Pro 8.3 beta has a little time out there.

Yeah have to make initial released to support vBulletin 5 so easy enough to throw in there.
