| Bidding off -- still shows in edit ad
I have bidding off for all my my categories. This keeps that option from showing up when the ad is uploaded. However, if you click "edit ad" you see the following option in the form: Quote: |
If this is an auction you may enter a reserve price and if your auction price is not equal or greater to this price your auction will automatically be relisted. (Numbers only!):
| Shouldn't this not be there if the category doesn't permit bidding???
Any way to correct this?

Actually technically the way it shows is how it is designed. It is done the way it is for a reason. One upload we check a category setup and load the options.
On edit we are actually checking if its an auction in the products table and the way we handle it is if its an ad or an auction where there are no bids then we load all the price stuff so that you can change it. Otherwise we hide everything so that it can not be changed.

I'm not sure I follow.
I have bidding off universally. I've uploaded a test ad in a private category. Bidding is not activated for that category.
So, why should the "reserve" price of an auction be one of the edit option when bidding isn't permitted?

Because that is not how the edit template is designed.
Sure bidding is hidden on all FRONT END ASPECTS sure.
I merely have said the edit template is designed a different way. Your free to modify yours however you wish.
The way our edit template is designed is if this is an ad all price stuff is shown or if it is an auction as long as there is not a bid then the price stuff is shown otherwise the price stuff is hidden.

Shouldn't it be that if bidding is enabled that the reserve price change section shows on the form - unless there is a bid alread? But if bidding isn't enabled that the reserve price change section doesn't show on the edit form?

That is never how the edit portion has worked in any version of the software. You can change things however you wish. I am just telling you how to has been designed.
Try using this template if it bothers you that much LOL

Thanks Chuck, that edited template worked fine.
I'm not trying to give you a hard time. I realize that the program has always worked that way in the past.
I guess it seems correct to you the way it works now -- or you would have already changed that section.
