I Chuck,
you can prevent the use of auctions buying certain categories?

Grazie

You can control which categories can have auctions by going to admin => edit categories and uncheck allow bidding for any category that you do not want biddying on.

ok, I had been misled and I thought it was always on the phrase:

Asking price? (Numbers only, enter 0 for <i> Best Offer </ i>):

* "enter 0 for best offer" does not change if the auction is not 'active?

Or has nothing to do "Best Offer" with the auction?

Sorry for my english. i use google translator!

That is the price field where it asks you to enter a price.

Whether or not you can do an auction in a specific category is the setting I noted. If you allow auctions in a category the trigger on upload to say whether or not an ad is an ad or auction is ALLOW BIDDING?
. If you do not allow bidding in a category then a user can only place an ad not an auction in that category.

ok, but if you allow bidding is not active "enter 0 for best offer" and who places the ad can be misled and believe that if you enter 0, the ad becomes an auction

but maybe I am confused between "best offer" and "auction" .... are two different things?

Yes your just confused I think.

An auction has a specific auction panel that states when the auction ends how many bids etc.

best offer under the price field just means that the seller has not entered a specific price meaning you can contact him and make an offer to buy the item.

Perfect! :-)

then just last question:
you can not eliminate the possibility of not putting a sale price?
I do not want that users can enter sales without price.
thanks

Maybe try altering your uploadproduct template to add in some java to require the price?

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
