| Only paying members able to buy
I am trying to setup a section for club merchandise that can only be bought by our dues paying members. I tried it and can not seem to make it work. I have figured out how to make it so "guests" can not see the ads but regular users still can see it and bid or buy now. Is this something that can be done with stock code or am I going to have to modify code.

If your paying members are in a special usergroup group then you set only that group besides admins mods can view the ads. The permission structure is much the same as any forum that uses subscriptions to bump a user into a new group.
The buy it now function is shown to anyone who has permission to view the actual ad.

No problem it does work like I said make sure after you set permissions as admin you login with a regular user and I am sure you will see the regular user will only be able to view ads you have given regular users permission to view. Then of course your premium members will be able to view ads they have permission to view.

I would have to see the setup Iann. I would be to debug the files. Obviously here I am just saying how things work when I look at things so we would have to debug your specific integration which is what this comes down to.

I prefer not to provide my personal info for stuff like that sorry not how it is done. I end up getting spam from sites if I do that.
You can make any admin account you wish and pass along the proper ftp info for us to debug your issue though our contact us link in the site header.

OK you should have the FTP info I sent you last week, it is still active. The message board user info I sent was a admin, but I changed it to a normal user for testing. I'll create you another one and send the info.

Okay not sure what you mean about ftp do you have some sort of info I can search for as I do not know what site etc. I do not really keep site info. I can search helpdesk email but I would need to have specific search info to find it. |

well I found ftp info. I see the email you send an ftp account. I see no regular user account that only belongs to say usergroup 4 for testing.
There is also one very important thing you have not done which I meantioned above. If you want to restrict only specific groups to see specific ads in select categories so they you would need to do so. As I explained above any user who has permission to view an ad can buy an ad.
If I look at your category permissions every single usergroup can view your ads for every last category so there is no real issue here. Your software is working as expected. If you want to restrict the viewing of ads to a specific paying group you would need to restrict the viewing permissions.
I would highly suspect here once you do that you will see it works just fine.
For instance the admin user you gave me belongs to usergroup 1 4 and 9 which is I think admin user and fgmcc member groups.

Did you look at the settings for Official Club Merchandise? It only has Admin, Mod, and Full dues paying able to view, but if you login as IanTest (sent you password last week) you can still view the ads.

I checked your category permissions and you had all usergroups could view that official merchandise category.
I made sure admin mod and full paying members where the only ones that could not view and iantest can not see that category.

Weird because in the DB and when I made the cat it was not set for all.. I saw you checking things, and at one point all were checked, but now they are the right way...
Looks to be working now. How come in the DB table pcc_user the usergroupid is 0 for all users?

Because the usergroups are retrieved from the forum.
Couple weird things I saw where this
1. The viewing permissions where correct for the cat at first but the group names etc where also different.
2. I did my debugging and the viewing permissions kept coming back 0 instead of 1 which means view it.
3. I then went back to the category editor and saw the cat had viewing permissions checked for all usergroups. I set permissions right and things worked fine.
The user Iantest belongs to usergroup 4 and usergroup 9 which means that one of those groups where checked to view which is why he could view. I reset permissions and its working.
Also your domain name jumps around between two domain names which is a little strange.
