I have added a auction advertisement then used a test account to make a bid and everytime I make a bid no matter what the amount is 300.00 , 400.00 etc. it still only shows up as 0.25 ??

if the price of an item is not entered on an auction sure the bid amount is going to be incremented to 25 cents thats normal always has been that way. the bid increment is based on the current price. Your max bid would keep someone else from going higher than you and your bid is incremented up. Bids that are not valid are never shown on the bid history.

You can replace your bids template with this to get rid of the extra brackets in display.

Im not sure if I get what your saying here.....When I create a ad I have put in:
Asking price? 25.00 (because it states in another section: If you want members to bid on this item, enter the starting bid into the Asking Price above. )

so i put that as my starting price for ppl to bid upon

then

buy it now price = 0 because i dont want ppl to buy it now if it goes over what its worth then thats fine.

If this is an auction you may enter a reserve price and if your auction price is not equal or greater to this price your auction will automatically be relisted. (Numbers only!):: 300.00

--ok so i did all of that now I use a test account and go place in bids of like 100.00 which after i submited it says the highest bid is now $26.00

I didnt put in 26.00 i put in 100.00!

How can i get it to put in the correct $$$$ i bidded for, so others can see what i bidded and can try to bid like even a $1 more etc?

You definately are not following what I am saying I think.

The bid increment is based on the current price on an ad. This is coded right in the bid php file.

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
I would definately need more concrete info to go on as the bid system has been the same in the software from day 1 and has no issues.

You can put any amount you want as a bid but your actual bid is only going to be the next increment to beat the current high bid and the price is adjusted based on the scale posted above in bids.php

So lets say a member goes in to make a bid on a starting price at $25 - he only bids like $50. Then other members go in and make bids, and the 1st bidder forgot what exact $$ amount he bidded, so now hes clueless on how much more to maybe bid he can put in $55, 65, 100 etc.

How can I get it setup like this:

1. When a member puts in a bid amount, it will show the exact $$$ he put in, if he puts in $500.00 it will show that amount.
2. If member 2 views the auction, he sees someone bidded $500 so then he puts in $501.00

And so on until the Auction has ended.

Does that make sense? It's like ebay!

You can not see a members maximum bid. The process works as I have explained. If a member places a bid and it is not high enough he is told his bid is too low. The correct action would be to try again.

The members bid would actually be 26.00 on a 25.00 item if they are the first bid and say bid 100.00. If a second member bids and say they bid 120.00 there actual bid would be 27.00. A maximum bid is never shown because that would just allow anyone to automatically get an item any time they want.

There are all kind of ideas on enhancements I can envision like a panel in admin to set the bid increments based on price.

Your free to alter the code to make things work however you wish.
